I feel particularly stupid when I see such simple and elegant solution to some problem. Simple, that is when you have figured it out so elegantly!

Crossing grains should work a lot larger than 2 inches, isn't that how plywood is made in 4x8 sheets? Just a thought

Love this! One of my projects is to get rid of this melamine work bench and get something lower and I can actually do some woodworking on!

I love this. I'm in the middle of making myself a low Roman bench and I'm at the point of needing accessories

For the steel, could you use an old lawnmower blade? 💖🌞🌵😷

I enjoyed the video 👍But a lot of that added effort we put into avoiding screwing into end grain isn't really necessary because they aren't massively weaker, if done right. Testing done by the FPL has consistently shown screws only lose about 1/4 of the strength going into end grain, which isn't a massive hit. If great withdrawal strength is important for a given application using thicker screws or longer screws can compensate fully for the effect.

What does FPL stand for?

I have the cutting blade from a broken hair clipper screwed to my bench with long screws, to adjust the height I back the screws out, put a shim (stirring sticks) underneath then tighten down again.

That's the best idea I've heard so far

To use the round one it needs another dog and a plate to attach the two so it can bridge two dog holes.

why are you using the worst handplane ever made? I don't understand sir! I don't think one can find a worse handplane than that one!
