Explosiveness with bench or dumbbell pressing can lead to pec tears eventually. Physio told me to go less explosive at beginning to avoid injury. Pec tears take patience to heal. I have had 3 smaller ones over years, nothing serious but always take time to heal and dread the idea of a major tear. I had to learn to not rely on firing out of the gate. Alternating dumbbells really help with power in depth.

Explosiveness at the bottom is not needed. You need pause reps at the bottom to stretch the muscles engaged there. Others say that triceps need work if that occurs. Pushdown exercises for that.
