Hi All, This is a great add on to the Festool saw - well worth considering if you have invested. Enjoy Andy

Just got it in the mail today. Got the 1000 mil and I love it. Great quality, contrary to what this gentleman said they sent me 2 flip stops and 2 support blocks for the price of one. Thank you to bench dogs.

Thank you for you review of this product. Mine arrived last week and I’m testing it out this weekend - great results so far! This really adds to the saw’s functionality at a great price.

Nice review Andy. Just a little tip when removing the guard lift. As it’s a friction fit and only 3D printed it’s best to just loosen the thumbscrews and pull the fence out. This removes the part easily and evenly.

Thank you, good to get feedback on that. The idea was so you could jump to the bits that are important to you. Or get back to a key point. Cheers Andy

Re dust collection, I feel that's inevitable on any table saw as long as there's no second dust hose connected to the blade guard.

Hi Michael, I think you are correct, perhaps an after market guard will appear with DC built in. That would be interesting. Cheers Andy

Hey Sam, Yep it does the job.

1) The end of the fence should reduce in height at the blade, both to allow the blade height to match the material, and to stop it jamming against the guard on the return stroke. So you do not need the guard support. 2) The graduations should be on the top, where you can see them.

Benchdogs do offer a version of this fence for the older Festool CS 50 Table Saw and it is a worthwhile upgrade.

This is a very nice kit, as all benchdog products are, but you lose some depth of cut and none of these fences can remain on the saw when packing it into the systainer because of the thickness and length reducing portability and the beauty of the kit being self contained. I wouldn't mind sacrificing some depth of cut if the fence fit into the systainer. Alternatively, albeit without the graduations (scale) you can switch the stock rip fence and miter fence enabling more support for miter cuts while not losing the portability and self contained. As for the stop, check out the FOG as there is a great small shop selling a stop that works on the stock rip guide. I purchased one from him and it has a nice fit and finish.

Yes it is a nice bit of kit, but the storage is probably the elephant in the room. Yes you can swap the fences, and then you have the top slot for a flag stop. Do you have a link to the flags top you mentioned. I would be interested in having a look at that. Cheers Andy

Thanks for the video. Do you know if there is an adapter for the batteries to fit other batteries instead or an adapter to wall plug?

have you found any solution for dust collection since?
@TheWoodgrafter
@TheWoodgrafter Жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, No not really, I guess it is what it is. I think a wider diameter hose may help, I'll probably play with some sort of adapter and see if it helps. Cheers Andy

Hi Andy. Is your sliding table straight or angled away from the saw a degree or so like mine?
@TheWoodgrafter
@TheWoodgrafter Жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, I have had a few folks querry the accuracy of the sliding table. Mine is flat and parallel, I know people in the FOG are debating this and have reached out to Festool. Festool guidance at the moment is to contact customer services if you have a problem. I know they have replaced a few tables. Cheers Andy

Good to know, I’ll have to send mine in because the angle on mine and the cup in the sliding table are so great that miters don’t match up. Glad to hear that yours is level and that they’ll look at it for service.

Hi Andy, Would you use this table saw to cross cut? It strikes me as a little small. If I had one my feeling is that I'd still pick my MFT and Kapex for those tasks..... In fact it just seems too small for anything other than site work; even for ripping I'd probably use my band saw over it, being shop based...
@TheWoodgrafter
@TheWoodgrafter Жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie, It ultimately depends on your work, this will be great for small scale furniture projects for both rips and cross cuts - and especially joinery like tenons etc. I wouldn’t use it for breaking down large MDF/ply sheets (although it could handle it) for that I would use my track. I tend to work with 25 or 50mm rough cut timber, I would use the planner/thickneser, band saw and drum sander for milling and initial prep. Then use the table saw for fine joiner and tuning. Like everything it all depends on your use case. Thank you for commenting. Cheers Andy

I can’t imagine being sooo scared of the saw blade that I would put up with that awful upper blade guard 😅

It does the job, and I would never advocate using the saw without the guard or going near the blade without turning off the power :-) Cheers Andy

@@TheWoodgrafter Andy, In your last video you showed that the rip fence fitted perfectly well, have you tried the BD stop on the rip fence ,what's the betting it fits and it's only £12, They want £73 +vat+shipping for a 2 foot fence, that's why I feel that way
@TheWoodgrafter
@TheWoodgrafter Жыл бұрын
Yes the rip fence does fit, but alas the flagstops don’t, not even the Festool ones. I still can’t get over the fact Festool didn’t use the same extrusion on both fences and base it on the MFT fence extrusion so accessories fit. Such is life, Andy

I disagree but nobody is forcing you to buy it. It is not like petrol, electricity, gas, food, etc. You can look at the price and walk away. There is the option to make your own. My opinion is that Benchdogs make quality products in the UK. Over the years they have invested in new workshops and new machines. Like any business they need to charge a fair price to keep the business running. Having seen the need for a fence for the Festool CSC SYS 50EBI Table Saw, they developed and brought this product to market in a very quick time. All these things have a cost, including (I assume) purchasing the saw.

@@robertpearce802 Thank you for the comment, I still think it is a quality product at a quality price. I took the time to go and spend a day with Ralph in his factory in Devon (before the new place) and even then the investment in not only the tools, but the tooling, the quality control, the customer service was all very impressive. Since then he has continued to invest and has a very impressive set up. A big part of the investment is the investment in time as a problem is identified and a solution goes through ideation, prototype, pilot, launch, feedback, iteration etc. I am proud to have been associated with BD for many years and believe the products are value for money and are of high quality. But everyone one is entitled to an opinion, and have the option not to purchase. The idea of a flag stop with an extended reach so it fits on the rip fence, is actually a good idea. You wouldn’t get the measurements and longer reach. But it would solve a problem within the capacity of the machine and keep things stored in the systainer. @benchdogs - food for thought….. Cheers Andy
