Love(d) my 940. Just realized I lost it last night during Metal Complex's Stream. I carried it so much, I am not buying another knife until I can replace it lol. I tore my house apart today looking for it today, but no luck. The Clip was kind of bent outward on mine, so I think it got caught on something and came out of my pocket at some point in the past 2 days.

Man that really sucks, I have lost that knife three times , once was out on the highway while I was working doing traffic maintenance ! I was devastated , really hoping you find it man, it’s a great companion , let me know if you find it !

@@CarryAndCut So far no luck. Went through the cars again about an hour ago, thinking maybe a seat belt caught it or something. Dug through the laundry room, and everywhere else I could think of. Even went through the couch cushions, lol. I think its gone for good. I have two slip joints coming Monday that I ordered before I lost the 940. Hopefully they can fill the void until I can replace it. I have other budget knives as well. I think the 940 was my "perfect" EDC though.

@@jeffreykirkland9054 man I really feel for you, that’s a horrible feeling it really is. When I thought I lost mine I thought to myself my wife is going to kill me and never let me buy another one 😂 what slip joints did you buy ??

@@CarryAndCut Thanks. My wife doesn't get why I was so mad about loosing it, lol. I ordered two Rough Ryders from their Artic Fox Editions. The Copperhead and Stockman pattern. They were a low price way to dip my toe into the traditional knife style. I have a Buck 110 my father gave me, but it's a bit big and heavy for edc. Figured I would try these out and see if I want to continue down the traditional knife rabbit hole. I grew up carrying Old Timers and Shrade Traditionals, but that was over 20 years ago now lol. Oh, and a Fun Fact I didn't know, the owner of Smokey Mountain Knife Works owns Rough Ryder and Queen Cutlery.

This is my first real expensive knife also always like the looks of it I wasn’t disappointed when I got it for $170 now they have gone up even more. I would probably not buy it again. Hopefully the lifetime warranty holds true and I don’t lose it, but I love this knife.

@@jamesneary603 it really is a great knife and same for me , it was my first actual investment into a knife years ago. And I still do love it. I swap the scales out every once in a while. I don’t carry it that often but when I do i definitely enjoy it ! People really hate on bench made now a days. But it’s still a great solid knife and good company ! @ I collect knives, mostly slip joints, but I have all sorts of knives. This is definitely my favorite knife to carry every day it’s in my rotation. I don’t carry it to work because I lose knives all the time there I usually use a knife under $30 at work lol I just wish they would make this with D2 steel and sell it under $100 same with the bug out

I’ve just bought this original 940. I’ve got a couple of the newer models and the two 945’s. But finally found one of these green ones on the secondary market like new. So I finally bought one. Looking forward to receiving it in the mail.

The axis lock sticks out a little further than other 940s. So much better with gloves on.

I just got the 940 in the green with the purple backspacer. Can I change the scales or do I have to find a specific scale that fits mine with the purple backspacer?

@@TylerJP99 great question , definitely be careful of it because long story short yes , some of the other models had an open back construction using barrel spacers instead of the purple back spacer. I’m don’t know if the new scale kits get rid of the purple back spacer. I have a set of copper scales I’m going to put on this one soon , I’ll make a video ! Thanks for the comment

I never have either. My friend recently had springs break on a mini barrage, I offered to take apart and fix for him, would make for a good video I think. But I imagine he might be harder on his knives than me 🤷🏼‍♂️

one thing people need to know about the coating is it scratches insanely easy compared to many other knives. if you have anything else in the pocket the coating will be scratched into oblivion. i have my kershaw for 7 years and the coating is still almost new despite carrying keys and other metal objects in the same pocket. only the clip shows wear and there are a couple dings. I was disappointed by this especially for the cost. I do love the 940 though but i will probably replace the scales.
