Both old new versions of this knife have been used from day one, and it is indestructible and easily sharpens i would recommend 10/10.

I suggest using SOG Pillar as your fixed-blade "benchmark" for comparison. It is a modern production knife that is has very similar dimensions to the popular hunting knife designs of the past.

I havent seen that one. I will check it out. Another viewer suggested esse 4 5 and 6

Haha bro got scammed, yep. Try $299.97 for an original, not $29.97. Used to work at a knife store and they are pricey for the real deal, but I mean I got one 😂

Great review. It’s nice to see honest reviews. I would consider the Gerber Strongarm for your comparison benchmark. It’s very popular and most knife people either own one or are at least familiar with it.

@@KnivesoftheRoundTable yes, Esee is a great idea too.

I'd recommend the ESEE 3 or Falkniven F1 as fixed blade benchmarks. Both popular knives, on the smaller side for a fixie but about as big as I'd want to carry every day, and both good bushcrafting/survival choices.

The Esse has been recommended by several people so I am adopting the Esse 3 and Esse 5 as size comparisons for fixed blades. You should see those used in the near future. Thanks for watching.

I should probably just buy one. I have the auto and mini in Cruwear. Good review. Thanks

The Adamas is a really good design and I really like that they went with Cruwear for this one. Thank you for watching.

I have the original Adamas (with the serrations on the spine). I’m not sure I entirely agree with your review. To me, it sounded like you want a bushcraft style knife (since everything you mentioned sounded very bushcraft related to me). You’re probably better off getting yourself a mora Garberg for this. This is definitely not not the knife for it. But if you take it for what it is, a light weight general purpose tank, it will handle anything you throw at it, it is a great blade. It is not a specialist wood working blade. On a side note, I carried this as my self Defense blade in South Africa too, it served phenomenally in this role as it has a very low profile. Tie a piece of paracord to the bottom of the sheath and then To your pants. Just pull on handle and instant deployment. Faster than any folder I owned.
@kylebuchwald25112 жыл бұрын
On a side note, you have a very minimal wrap. I have large hands and wrapped it thicker. It has made it super comfortable for me.
@KnivesoftheRoundTable2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. Perhaps I am using it for the wrong application but thats the use I have for the blade.
@Xandrosi3 ай бұрын
I'd argue that a flat blade like that might make it possible to retain a knife in hand while drawing and firing a pistol. It's why I bought the MDV Plus One.
@KnivesoftheRoundTable3 ай бұрын
Cant argue with that use

Adamas is maybe benchmade's best product line imo. Choices are cruwear and magnacut at an optimal 63-65 hrc and it's somehow their least expensive despite being more knife.

I love Sibert designs, but I have a hard time getting why BM cant provide some G10 ( or Mexican FRN ) scales at this price point. The original Adamas fixed (serrated back edge) was meant to be inexpensive for soldiers (therefore the cheap plastic sheath and all the holes), but here we have a premium SRP.
@KnivesoftheRoundTable2 жыл бұрын
100% agree. Or at least sell them to me, give me a G-10 option and a micarta option. and I can choose weather to use/buy them or not.

No one ever notice that this thing is a beast of a Neckknife. Cpm Cruwear and cerakote, some Micarta Scales and you have a indestructable Sideknife for life. For batoning we anyway want a little bigger chunkier Girl ;)

Its a bit big for me for a neck knife but I agrer that we use a chunkier knife for batoning and chopping

dlrmon1 0 seconds ago I like the design...The weight savings loosing Scales doesn’t outweigh the discomfort for me...that and their coated blades will look like crap long before you ware it out. The sheath looks like it’s fresh out of design school... lol...I must be getting old... I like the Saddle Mountain Skinner as a light weight backpacking blade but you have to baby it...light work only...I wish they still made the Sibert Arvensis 119...mines somewhere in the Idaho Wilderness...

Benchmade knives are, in themselves, nice. But I've read some negative reviews about their customer service, e.g., Benchmade wouldn't honor the warranty on a knife not purchased through their web site, and Benchmade has ignored my Facebook inquiries and emails about some new knives coming out. So I'm going to stick with Buck. They answer their customers' questions, and they are on the cutting edge--literally--with new Magnacut blades.

I have not had the need for Benchmade customer service so I cant speak to it. I do think they had nice designs but they are going crazy with their prices. The slim was insanely expensive

Odd idea for a "fixed blade knife". Just hte blade. :)) Spyderco, has somehting similar called the "Mule Team"....in that they will sell you the blad/tang on it's own in serval types of steel for you to try AND they will also sell you scales for you to assemble on the blde/tang. THIS is what Benchmade should have done here. Not sure I understand the point of this knife...selling only the steel/blade/tang with paracord...if it means this knife won't be used...being so uncomfortable. ..hard to get leverage...looks like a "throwing knife". :)
@KnivesoftheRoundTable Жыл бұрын
I agree. I like this blade shaoe better than thr Mule but I really like that they make the Mule in a lot of different steels. I believe people startes doing aftermarket scales for this one
