This would be the long way to replace them. Probably be able to replace them in about 5 minutes if you do one side at a time. Future scales may not line up exactly so you may have to fully take it apart anyways. Nice vid 👍🏼

Definitely the "long way" but I prefer cleaning all the parts while swapping. Also the pivot has to come out completely to swap the 2nd side. Flytanium makes a tool that holds everything together while the pivot is out to do the swap faster. I featured that tool in my bugout video, but truth be told I prefer the long way that really only takes me 10 minutes or so when not on camera and trying to explain the steps. Thanks for watching!!

@8:10 If you put those standoffs on before the other stuff you won't have to manage picking up the handle with the knife blade hanging off they're all awkward.

That’s really interesting, I’ve never encountered that. I also usually put a drop on the blade tang so the crossbar glides smoothly
