The county in my area created a Low Distortion Projection when NGS came through and did a Height Modernization project. This makes things easier for me as i just input the projection values in my collector and just use those on each project and just check into the closest NGS published data points or previously collected PLS corners on the same epoch datum for a check before i takeoff. this will not work on a construction project as you would have to localize to what the engineered plans contains.
