I recently purchased the Rogue Fab 605 bender & just completed my first project, a cart similar to the Rogue Fab cart with the bent square tubing. Never bent tubing before but using the info from this video I made my 4 legs with great success (they all matched perfectly). I’m impressed with my new bender. It was fun to weld together, & It’s easy to bend with. Thanks Rogue Fab for making these videos

Great bending 101 video. While I have never used the RF bender specifically the video is a great place to start. One good thing about the RF tools is the large library and customer support available. Made in the USA is a big factor when choosing the right bender. Good job.

The only time I've seen 3-D tube bending like that was 30+ years ago at an exhaust shop in Chesterton, IND. Me thinks that place was called "JACK'S MUFFLER". They had an old power bender somewhat similar to to the way yours works. They had a rookie making parts on it, so he would occasionally stop at the end of a step and ask questions from one of the seasoned techs. Me thinks they had instructed him to do that to avoid excessive $crap.

@5:07 you guys state that you can resume any one of those bends since you still have the clamps in the same position. That's great and I'm really happy I can continue to bend at exactly the same spot without removing the clamps. However, I'm curious to know how we get to that first bend if the second clamp is within the radius section of the first bend? Isn't it preventing it from even going back into the bender? Can you clarify what you can actually continue to bend and show us a demonstration perhaps in another video? Thanks in advance! Great videos by the way!
@RogueFabrication
@RogueFabrication 4 жыл бұрын
If the clamp is in the radius of the bend you can still resume EITHER, but not BOTH. You would have to remove the other clamp in this uncommon case. I hope that makes sense!

A basic rule of thumb is you want your radius to be at least 3x your material's outer diameter. If your material has a very thin wall you may need to go larger to prevent excessive deformation. Rogue Fabrication Thanks for commenting back 👍 I have built a lot of machines from a bandsaw mill to building a UTV out of a old quad and built a hydraulic dump bed for it. I’m actually in the process of building a mini 4x4 articulating dump truck for my property, I used all Subaru running gear for it. I’m up to part 8 on my build series about it so far. What I plan to build when I get a bender is a stout 4wd side by side using once again Subaru running gear. Again I will be making a build series out of the side x side build. I have checkout a lot of info on your site, I just need to read up on what size dies would be best for my next project, I always work with square metal so I’m a bit new to fabrication with tubing. Take care

Rogue Fabrication Yes it steers in the center hydraulically and also pivots at the same joint so the front and rear axles move independently. The center joint was quite complex to get everything designed right because the drive line runs though the center of it also. Take care 🙂

hey Joe, are you going to a tubeing die for 2 1/2" thanks
@RogueFabrication
@RogueFabrication 3 жыл бұрын
We absolutely will at some point, but not for the m600 line. The 600 means 6" max bend radius, and that isn't big enough for most applications on 2.5" OD.

Yes, I have a bent tube. I'm looking for another bender. I want one I can use with cad. one that will not leave a marker or deform the tube much at all or not at all. I would like to talk more about your bender. tired of watching videos. also, one that isn't loud. omg some are so loud. also would only want one bender that does heavy and thin wall tubing.

Unless you spend 10x the price of our M625 mandrel bender, you won't get a broader wall ratio range (from 2" x .083/.065 up to .250 wall). Call us. Let's talk. 503-389-5413

How about filling tube with sand and welding both ends, wont it help, too much hassle I guess? 😁
@RogueFabrication
@RogueFabrication 7 ай бұрын
Sand is not worth the mess and time. Depending on technique, you can make (and heat) a pressure vessel (unsafe) when you weld caps on a tube packed with wet sand. The industrial solution (under $100) is an internal metal mandrel that is 100% removable. It's called cerrobend. We have a video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zn-6h2WliN5jeac Or get the only mandrel bender in the world that is remotely affordable (we make it right here in Oregon!): kzbin.info/www/bejne/npavZquqbNhknqs -Joe

Can you bend 1.5 / 2mm aluminum tube? Thanks

We have only rated our machines for .120 wall with a mandrel for 1.5" aluminum. This number is based off others testing and we have not actually tested thinner ourselves.

What is a good bender for smaller tubing with tighter radius bends? I'm looking for something to do 0.75" OD x 0.083" wall and 0.5" steel tubing for kart seat supports with tighter radius bends than larger tube benders - and not finding anything.

How tight of a radius? We currently offer a 3.5clr and that wall thickness would be no problem for it - Josh in customer service

We also make custom dies. We can make a 3.0 CLR. Or a 2.875 CLR (which will be about 3.0 CLR after the radial spring of the material is considered). Just depends how exact you need to be. -Joe

Get pricing at RogueFab.com. They are very affordable for a US-Made tool with this level of performance. You can get a complete machine with a 180 degree die and hydraulics for under $1500 at the time of this post. Sorry, but I have to also post this, we have trolls try to leverage us from comments with numbers in them: DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A CONTRACT. Hello, I just opened my 1.75 dies and they have a shoulder machined on them unlike the rest of my dies. It seems to be off center?
@RogueFabrication
@RogueFabrication 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is intentional. It is just to stay out of the way of the electric/hydraulic auto bend stop system. In case you add it later.
@beauvrt
@beauvrt 4 жыл бұрын
@@RogueFabrication Thank you for that. I was not sure. I measures the thicknesses of both sides with some calipers and it was the same so I ran it. One more thing, with the 1.75 set I recieved 2 pressure dies. I think for HD bends with hd kit, but I only have one 1.75 clamp.
