McMakistein created a datapack that could potentially lead to new crazy redstone machines within vanilla minecraft. The only thing that could make this better and feel more vanilla, would be if they turning points were angular and not rounded. "datapack" "vanilla minecraft" Sure thing mate.
@GameJam2302 жыл бұрын
@@NevermindFlame This is basically just as vanilla as using /give to get a dead bush with sharpness 32767. Datapacks are developer-implemented features. That's what the majority of people refer to when they call a game vanilla, anyway. Besides, the only part of this datapack that you can't do with command blocks alone is likely the 3D model of the piston bending, since most of the functionality is contained in mcfunction files, which if you knew anything about them, are literally just chained command blocks but as a text file. You wouldn't say command blocks aren't vanilla, would you? Even the PISTON models can be done with just a texture pack (another developer-implemented feature), which would be moronic to claim changes the game in a meaningful-enough way to consider it a "modification", even if it is one according to the first 2 seconds you spend making a Google search for the definition. Forge is not vanilla. Fabric is not vanilla. Optifine is not vanilla. Datapacks are.

Mumbo jumbo: Bendy minecraft pistons are weird Me: Oh i thought it was completely *normal* and that's how pistons work
@m2pt52 жыл бұрын
I would imagine you could make a giant door that would all pull back and turn into walls/floor/ceiling of the hallway behind it fairly easily with bendy pistons. (Maybe with a second door further inside, so none of the piston mechanics are visible with the doors closed.)

With the hidden staircase, why didn’t you just lower the pistons that retracted the floor one more time? It would’ve solved your issues without much logic circuits.

...or use bendy-pistons to move them to the side in 2 motion?
Me as a grandpa watching my grand children play Minecraft in 2060: when I was a kid, I had to use normal pistons

How cool would it be if they allowed a dropper to receive repeated reverse signals so it could pull in blocks and using carpetmod movable tile entities you could make like a fully functioning elevator that could be controllable between different floors with buttons

I hope one day datapacks can do as much as mods can, and in a stable way. Every server could be modded but played with a vanilla client or server then, making it super accessible to so many people to play so many different variations of things

Modded servers accesible by vanilla clients..... so plugins???
@finnche9555 Жыл бұрын
@@elnico5623 No. plugins still require the Minecraft server to not be fully vanilla, whether it's paper, spigot or whatever. The vanilla server structure only accepts datapacks or things a vanilla singleplayer game would also accept.

@@elnico5623 "played with a vanilla client or server then" Direct quote from my comment, if it helps. Servers aren't accessible to setup for the majority of people, and not easy to maintain especially using a vanilla server.

9:26 well datapacks are blurring the line between mods and vanilla at this point, with how much they can actually do
@rkvkydqf2 жыл бұрын
Datapacks are cursed. Doing anything in them feels like writing a 3d game in Excel. They are basically command block monstrosities in code. Everything is a workaround. From setting a variable with scoreboards to using custom NBT tags for custom items, every issue has a simple solution that was never implemented. The only useful thing about datapacks, is how they don't require mods or even reloading.
