I'm thinking he was nervous and got watery eyes. He's a great actor, but I'm pretty sure singing on stage is way out of his comfort zone. As soon as he had to start singing, the 'glitter' appeared. Now , I could certainly be wrong. But I highly doubt he had actual glitter on his face. And I've experienced the same thing when speaking in front of a crowd of people. He may be used to speaking in front of crowds, but as far as I can recall, he's not known for singing in front of people.
