Yeah, I guess that would be if Ryan Martinie played for Cryptopsy.

Even as someone who’s not the biggest fan of Cryptopsy (Lord Worm’s vocals often just annoy me unfortunately), I can’t believe you managed to make this song sound even more chaotic than it already is without sounding bad. If anything, the sound of a fretless bass kind of reminds me of Martin Fergusson’s tone on Blasphemy Made Flesh.

After listening to the basslines from cryptopsy, one wonders why other bands don't do something similar. An entirely new element can be added to a song as opposed to a generic bassline that just follows guitars and does nothing but fill in the blank space.
@calebbean13848 ай бұрын
Lots of bands have basslines that deviate from the guitar. Individual Thought Patterns by Death is a good example, predating any Cryptopsy album. Atheist did it before them even
@ergile1728 ай бұрын
@@calebbean1384 Of course many bands have such basslines, but it isn't particularly widespread, and the bass isn't often as dominant in the mix as it is in a Cryptopsy record. Sorry if I gave the impression that I thought Crypstopsy was the only one.

Your covers are so good. Slapping, but more specifically plucking, is really hard to do well on a fretless and you make it sound easy. Do you use round wounds, half wounds or flats? Sounds like rounds, but just curious.

@@jaaz.handssI feel the same about flatwounds. I've been using half wounds and getting a distinct mwah with them. I've found rounds to be too bright and sharp, but I'm not against trying them out again. Do you just use D'Addario Nickles?

never got around to configuring with the Hyper Luminal in the suite program, so its just whatever's on board. just using the EQ and cab sim in the AO900, no distortion in the amp. only having a hair of gain from the B3k
