10 years later I come back to the video that inspired me to pick up a bass. Rock on bro. I still randomly play that opening bass line all the time.

Another one bites the dust is a global hit and it just took 3 notes. This bass writing it's fucking insane. I just got my first bass and I think playing this song is my goal so I must practice a lot hahaha
@vdre67412 жыл бұрын
Honestly, this music is not an unrealistic objective. It's very technical and fast but there is not so many subtilities. Plus the fact that practice this song slower could be a great exercise to improving your play since It similar to scale practice.

Question......This bass or a spector? I'm left handed and am very limited to what I have to choose from, I personally like the tone one this better than in the covers you do for C.Corpse. Since you own both models, what would you go with first? I don't have the option to just go play bad ass lefty models at my local guitar center because they don't have shit.
@user-tp2ex6kk4u11 жыл бұрын
That is a brutal question. I would miss the one i didnt pick , i love both companies so much.

@ThanatopicalRape lol the strings i have on this bass are DR Black beauties, they are about 2 years old and im kind of amazed they still sound good at all. i didnt think that with a standard gauge string set it would sound good being tuned to B standard but i was wrong.

@NSGU HELL YEAH man hahaha - Portal kicks ass....something of an acquired taste though, as they are rather noisy, but fucking awesome nonetheless... I would recommend: Transcending A Mere Multiverse - From "Seepia" Atmosblisters - From "Seepia" Glumurphonel - From "Seepia" Abysmill - From "Outre" Omnipotent Crawling Chaos - From "Outre" ...And pretty much everything off of their new album "Swarth"
@reallysuperfathog8613 жыл бұрын
@Cory1349 there is a little bit more room in between the strings which is better for plucking and 4 strings are more traditional and universal and you usually dont use the bottom string very often in metal so it is kinda stupid to pay more for a 5 string
@Solidsidious15 жыл бұрын
Rockbass by Warwick is the bass he playing in this vid. Rockbass are cheeper versions of a Warwick bass guitar he's using the thumb version it looks, if you don't believe me you can easily see the brand name from 0:00 to 4:05. =\
@reallysuperfathog8613 жыл бұрын
@Cory1349 like i said, it depends if you pick or pluck more, and you might not want to pay more for an extra string that you might only use in a handful of songs and worst case scenario is that in a five string song you could just go far down the neck on the g string but i guess if you are up to paying a bit more you can get the 5 string

What was you wrong about? Sounds to me like you nailed the piss out of it! Great choice on song too. Also, what kind of strings are those? They have great tone and I definately dig the Black String color. I recently just put D'Addario Light Gauge Strings on my Schecter - They started off sounding great and I loved how easy they were to play, but after only 2 months or so, they've already started to wear out and lose their tone. (This being why I asked) LOL Still...KEEP IT UP!!!!

@The6Black6Metal6 i think a lot of warwicks have that sound. most of them are very complex with their capabilities. it could also be the strings and the fact that treble is set to high. i never owned a warwick so i can't say from my experience. hope this helps, man.
