London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2021 Part 2

Some folks said that it was a shame that modern cars had not been excluded from the roads for the sake of the run. I disagree. There's a little Look at Life film about the London to Brighton run made in the late fifties. The 'modern' cars passing by would now all be wonderful classics. It may seem unlikely today but in fifty years or so all those contemporary cars will have a lot of nostalgic appeal! Thanks for showing us Ben, this is a treat.

Ben, quite the show. Do you know how many participants there were. Surprised that there were so many of the older models that had the tiller steering, have only seen a few over here in the states. The Oldsmobile was one of them. Had a very good turnout of Morgans, several groups of them and even a 3 wheeler. Like VW and the Beetle, they made several models that had a similar appearance for many years. Numerous models of MG's, Could recognize more of the 50's and later sports cars. Next year you should make a sign pointing to Brighton. Well done, enjoyed it immensely.

To be fair that is the first year I have been asked.... But you do have a point. No, I don't know how many official entries (those built 1904 and before). They are interesting vehicles. Next year I will try to look up the entrants in advance so that I can put captions on.

Thie video is great and very enjoyable to watch. However, the junction with the B2184 is so busy that I'm surprised that there isn't a Marshall at this point by now.

great vehicles there Ben, I like the monkey bike escorting the old three wheeler, those vehicles have come full circle now, they can keep up to speed now, on our snarled up roads🤣👍 thanks for sharing Kev

My favourite this year has to be in the first video, the one with the boiler and fireman on the back! They are all good though.

Did a couple go wrong way at R/A? One driver unsure and shouted to following vehicle for directions.

They all seemed to go the right way. There were a couple that looked like they ought to be in the run which went the other way but all the veterans definitely went the right way.

Yes. And modern drivers are also amazing, but not in a good way at all :)
