It makes me sick the way everyone on here is so hateful towards this lady who obviously needs some medical and advisory help. Its like bullies laugjing at and mocking the spotty little child at school. Lets behave like compassionate adults and stop villifying people with problems - its doesnt help and wont change things. I have to add that so many young people these days are workshy and would rather stay at home on benefits. Of course there are those who pop out as many babies as they are able to get their grubby little mitts on more child benefit. Look at the broader view of life. We are all individuals, not one is is alike. Noody has the right to judge Kathleen. They dont know her, they know very little of her life, of her disabilities of her mental health. All these things need to be taken into account before tearing into her so inhumanely.

But financially it's worth it when the overtime pay comes in. Most months before hand I was left with nothing after paying everything, yet he complains about £378 for "2 weeks" and apparently it's "not enough". That's £189 per week for food and whatever else, that's plenty. Some people are ungrateful. I used to get by on £250-£300 a month, and that included running a car and paying the exorbitant fuel rates we pay now.
@barrett78932 жыл бұрын
Amen to that! Talking about afford healthy food you can go to the farmers market and get cheap vegetables and fruits and everything else. But he doesn’t want that he wants fast food because it taste better. He can afford fast food and cigarettes. So why can’t you afford good healthy food from the farmers market? If he really wanted a better life he would get off his ass and do as much as he could and eat right. In the morning you can eat a scrambled egg and one piece of toast. And continue to lose weight and during lunch you can make good food. You can actually scramble a egg or two and cook some bell peppers and put them together and bell pepper and eggs or amazing and add a little bit of pepper no salt. You can have three courses a day. A good size medium breakfast a medium large and a medium dinner. Don’t tell me that you don’t have time when you’re on disability or SSI you have nothing but time!! Your drawn other peoples money that have paid into the government!! 💯 This makes me sick. They are just like any other Drug addicted person! They may not be doing a hard-core drugs but it’s still a addiction and they’re killing themselves slowly!! And using our money to pay for it. It’s the same way here in the United States. What is going to happen when half the government people that are paying in. Are no longer working and just getting SSI or Social Security and the other half is working and killing themselves! Here in the United States they’re trying to get rid of Social Security after you paid all these years in and then when you retire they want to get rid of it!! Which is unbelievable and sad!! But it’s because of (freeloaders like this.)That are entitled and expect everything to be given to them. Get off your ass and get a job and lose weight if you want to you will!! But if someone keeps handing you everything and paying your way why the fu$k would you get up and go to work?!!?? That’s the problem the government needs to give them a time limit to lose weight and get a job and everything. And really stick to it and if they don’t get themselves straightened out within a year cut them off! And let themselves or their family worry about it.!! People that get on disability that really don’t need it it’s just like a drug. They get everything for free they don’t have to pay any taxes and they’re sucking our money up that we’re paying into the system for nothing. No don’t get me wrong they are some serious ill people that need to be on disability no question about that. But if you’re just fat and you’re not trying to do anything about it and who’s fault is it? It’s not mine it’s your fault stop being entitled and thanking you should get everything for free of something that is your own fault!! But disability and SSI has become like a drug to these people. They don’t wanna work and of course they don’t want to because they get everything handed to them they don’t have to do anything and they just are like leeches or Mosquitoes. They just suck and suck as much as they can get. I mean their house is paid for they usually have really nice cars everything’s paid for they get food stamps and government assistance and their daycare is paid for. Who the hell would want to work with her getting all that? Most people that are drawing of the system are living a lot better than the working poor!!! 💯 No not every person is like this they are some people that really do have health issues that shouldn’t be working that should be drawn off the system but not everyone. It is a case to case Evaluation!! 💯 and you can afford to smoke cigarettes and afford to eat fast food? Why are you not working and why are you drawing of the system? Disability or SSI was only made to help you help the extreme poor or people with serious health issues. It was only supposed to be a semi Safetynet not a full Safetynet for your entire life. It was only created to basically give you enough to survive!! But somehow it has just become a great live in for some people that just don’t wanna work there lazy!! But I guess when half the people in the government quit working and the drawing fake Claims of disability and SSI!! And the other half Cannot continue paying for the other half. They will have to get off their ass and go to work I can’t save them like a leech in sucked up all the money that we paying the government. They’ll have to get off their ass and go to work and really do something or they’ll be homeless living on the street. Trust me they won’t be homeless they’ll be getting out getting a job or there family will take care of them!!

Apparently resistance training is really good for general health, keeping bones strong and, of course, increasing your strength. Now I just need to start my journey, as I'm overweight and very unfit.

Amen to that! This makes me sick. These people are drawing our retirement money up completely. It’s the same way here in the United States. They are like leeches!! And they’re always complaining that they don’t get enough money and they’re only getting by. When their house is completely paid for by the government just like here in the United States they get section 8 they get super nice houses that are $2000 or $1800 a month for rent just rent for the house! Somewhere between that amount of money for rent that’s the government gives for free with section 8 !! Also they drive some of the nicest cars you’ve ever seen!! And their kids go to daycare and get free lunches and they get depending how many kids they have they get between $500-$1000 a month in food stamps!! They get Baby milk and all of that. They get free medical and free dental insurance through the government programs! So they don’t have to worry about going to the doctor worry about paying for insurance. I mean they’re living the fu$king life don’t get me wrong.. The government is just giving all our hard earned money that we Pay in to Social Security away To freeloaders. What reason would they have to find a job when they’re doing so well through the government. There is no reason at all. They make more income than little better than the working poor. And that is the honest God truth. And every couple years they will have a kid so they continue doing all this. Basically scamming us out of our money. When finally half of the people in the United States are no longer working and just being lazy and drawing disability benefits or SSI. The other half will continue working and the other half continue being free loaders!! but they will not be any Social Security,SSI, or disability to turn to when you really need it. Because the government is already trying to get rid of Social Security the money we pay into the government to take care of us when we’re old. I guess those people will get up and get off their asses up and go get a job then but then it’ll be too late!! No,I’m not saying every person that draws disability is frauding the government. They are some people that really are sick that need disability or there some people that are having a rough time and need income while they’re looking for a job. Definitely that’s why the system was created. But the system was only supposed to be a safety net and that is all. It was only supposed to give you enough money to Let you barely get by. Not to be living better than the working poor. That’s why the system was created and that’s how it was supposed to be. But the government has changed it in so many ways and these free loaders are living the dream!! 💯 They are actually people that get $1000 worth of food stamps. Let’s just say they have three or four kids and some of them get even more than that. And they’ll sell half of their food stamps because They don’t need them. If you buy $500 they will only charge you $300 and you’ve got to think when you go to the grocery store these food stamps are not taxable so you’re not paying any taxes on anything!! WTF is wrong with the Government??!!?? When I was a kid growing up there was several people that did this that’s how I know about it. I came from working poor family. But my parents work their asses off every day to take care of us and provide for us. We may have not always had the best but we had enough and we had everything we needed and we had love more than anything. We may have not wanted some of the things for dinner but we definitely never went hungry. I think God for my parents. And my parents push their kids to do better than they did and we all did because of the grace of God and our parents pushing us and struggling and taking care of us… If it had not been for my parents I would not be where I am today. Neither me or my siblings would either. We all went to college and graduated and my parents busted their ass to help us pay for college. They worked double shifts and did everything possible. And my parents have never asked us kids for anything but we always give back to them for everything they did. Because we can afford to pay for them now. We will give them money and we are helping them in their old age. All of us went and bought my mom and dad a brand new SUV they didn’t ask for it and they cried and told us they couldn’t take it. But they eventually took it. My parents are very proud people. Kathleen commenting on how diet foods have more sugar than non diet food, suggests she has little to no nutritional knowledge. And the other guy saying he can’t afford fat free food etc. If they knew anything about food they’d know that there aren’t really “diet” foods. Any food can be fitted into a healthy diet. It’s about portion control for “bad” foods. If these people were taught about food and nutrition they would at least have the knowledge to make informed decisions .

I think she knows that all, but obesity is a mental disorder. These people want to die, that simple. Any sane person would do anything to lose weight if they develop such severe health problems and know it comes from their weight and not the other way around. It's a kind of depression mixed with an eating disorder. These people do not benefit from health care and welfare, as both support them in their illness rather then curing them. If they wouldn't get money and wheelchairs, they would be forced to change something.

There's a big difference between excess weight caused by health issues such as the gentleman with MS, and health issues caused by excess weight brought on by eating too much of the wrong foods! MS is a REAL disability that is brought on through no fault of the person with it, however being obese and expecting the tax payer to foot the bill for a lifetime of gluttony IS NOT A DISABILITY! James is a real inspiration, get out there and enjoy your life James, you're doing great with your attitude 😊
@mariehewett52402 жыл бұрын
I agree that being obese is not a disability but not always due to the choice of living a life of gluttony. This is supposition as you dont know the woman or her circumstance and why she got to where she is today. I can understand the anger but not the hatred. This woman obviously has mental health issues and uses food as a prop. just like alcoholics, smokers and drug addicts that cost the country fortune in medical bills. Why is none of this a big issue as well? Also, being obese isnt always due to overeating - this is a myth. It can be due to hormonal imbalance, a low metabolism which doesnt absorb food quickly enough, medication - some drugs are weight loss inhibitors. I am overweight but not because I overeat as anyone would suppose due to the hatred of fat people which is a form of prejudice. I am overweight because I was born with curvature of the spine which runs in my family, fused discs in my lower back, lympheodema in my legs, emhysema in my lungs, stage 3 kidney disease, arthritis and Type 2 diabetes on insulin (a weight loss inhibitor. I am unable to exercise due to the above as not only is it painful but impossible in some cases. The diabetes triggered some of the above condition but this also runs in my family. It wasnt caused by overeating. I eat child portions and I choose healthy meals. I havnt eaten any meat for over 50 years and I dont like fried food, cakes or biscuits. This is just another take on a very popular misconception. Life isnt always what it seems.
@mariehewett52402 жыл бұрын
Gluttony isnt always the reason - sometimes it can be down to serious mental health issue where some people develop props to cope - like smokers and boozers and drug addicts for example. You don't have to believe it, but that doesn't stop it being true. Unhealthy foods will always be cheaper as they're typically mass produced with a view to longer shelf life than healthier fresh foods. You can call it a choice but it's not like people who eat unhealthy are choosing to have all the side effects that go with it. They're not eating chips because they want to become obese. They're eating them because it's an easy to cook food, tastes good, and is cheap. What you may find easy and simple to do others may find difficult. I can say that when I cook carrots & parsnips even doing the washing up requires more effort when compared with a simple pizza and chips meal. All these factors impact the options we go for.

You can make really good value and healthy meals with very little effort in a slow cooker or electric pressure cooker. E.g things like cabbages (55p), carrots (45p/kg), onions (92p/kg), spring greens (70p) with pulses (£1.80/kg), beans, grains and/or lean meat and fish can make filling meals. Add a few herbs and spices, bit of salt. Can throw in pasta or have the casserole with some bread if wanting extra carbs. I know the cost of literally everything has skyrocketed but I still think basic fresh veg/fruit/pulses/grains etc are cheaper than loads of artificial ready meals and highly processed high salt/fat/sugar foods.

It depends. If you can't afford a car then you're at the mercy of what you get delivered and I've found quite often the fresh vegetables aren't in great condition. There is no real consistency with regards to quality. And then you need to put in the prep time, which may not be long if you know how to do it, but those who don't might struggle to get it done if they have other things going on. When you factor in that something like a frozen vegetable pizza is only 1.50 and is consistently decent quality and anyone can shove in the oven, it's not hard to see why some people use that option.

We bought a cook book, plan our week's meals ahead and then online order our shop. We have honestly saved a small fortune on our food bill and eating literally 100 times healthier. A little planning and a little effort goes a hell of a long way. We both work full time in demanding jobs, busy with children and their post school clubs etc. yet can still find the time to achieve it. Being sat in the house 24hrs a day there really is no excuse. He is the perfect example of what benefits are truly for. The only thing I disagree with is his excuse for being overweight, that he can’t eat healthy.
