All who was here until I think december 2020 have right to stay and continue claming benefits…. If their close family wants to come here and live on benefits can apply and in 99% they will can come and have right to use benefits etc so…. Brexit stopped them a little bit but not to much 🤣 I can see on Polish forums on fb how they lie to government so their “cousin”, “girlfriend”, “boyfriend” etc still can come here and use benefits 🤣 Brexit is one big joke…. It makes only live harder for people who live here. It stopped one of my businesses bcoz now everything what I want buy & sell from EU and China is more expensive…. 🙄 Is also harder to go to holiday with my dogs. Czech republic has been saying this for years and years but we are still seen as racist. Gypsies lives here for centuries and like 98% of them are still on benefits, knows different ways to be able to claim every benefit they can, have too many kids, the kids hardly go to school, just hanging outside and causing problems, just waiting to turn 18 to claim benefits themseves and then pretending their life is awful just because we are racist. It's cycle that never ends and working people are sick of it. I worked with few gypsies, and just by watching them for few minutes you could already tell they were decent people and I've never seen anyone at work treating them differently. But sadly most of them just live of taxpayers money and then calling the taxpayers racist.

This is old, from 2014. That said, this month I paid £1,050 in tax alone and another £400 in national insurance, seeing stuff like this angers me. I don't ever begrudge anyone moving to a different country for a better life, provided they contribute in some way either with their skills, charitable work or some form of employment to pay their way. I can't stand people who move to another country with the sole intention of living of a social security system for the rest of their life, oh, and not bothering to learn the language. I've been on holiday to Spain about 12 times in the last 18 years. I almost consider it my second home, many of those visits were for 3 weeks at a time. If I ever moved there i'd be learning the language as soon as I could and looking for employment or some other form of generating my own income through legal methods.

I am on Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) because I’m dealing with potentially fatal medical conditions that are truly preventing me from working. I almost died two weeks ago (October, 2023) due to severe pneumonia. I HAVE TO HAVE MY BENEFITS! This was bout 17 and I had to be intubated and sedated. I’m still dealing with PTSD after that terrifying experience. Thank you God I pulled through again. My mom always said-there’s a difference between a helping hand & a handout. The issue to begin with for welfare, benefits etc is that it was meant to help for a time not for good but that’s not how it’s worked out because naturally people like to push the envelope, justify & take advantage. As an American who lives in the UK, and who refuses to utilise the NHS, I am bothered by the fact that I still have to pay immigrant healthcare surcharges each year, for the NHS, but these other immigrants can over, and not pay anything towards the system, but they receive all of the benefits!

I visited the A&E at an NHS hospital, I was not impressed by the facilities nor the surgeon, so I left and went private and paid £7,000, but my health comes first. Any person residing in the UK for the purpose of studying or working, who is not a British citizen has to pay the surcharge. The cost of the surcharge varies as it depends on how many months or years your visa is valid for. You can type in immigrant healthcare surcharge online, and you will be able to review the fees.

Not everyone has to pay, and treatment at A & E as well as GP surgeries is free for all, according to the gov official “ how charges to NHS healthcare applies to overseas visitors, sub section asylum seekers and refugees” I also recall doctors claiming it would be racist to demand payment from health care tourists from outside the EU

@@wideawakerealist2141 read my post again... Any individual working or studying in the UK, who needs a visa to legally stay in the country has to pay the immigrant healthcare surcharge. It is not an optional fee, the surcharge has to be paid during the time you are submitting your visa application for renewal, extension whatever..The fee has to be paid first prior to finalising the online application for your visa.the online visa application is not complete unless you pay the fee. I am not speaking about asylum seekers etc... I moved to the UK years ago to study, the immigrant healthcare surcharge was not applicable until 2016, when there was an influx of immigrants coming to the UK. Years later, I still have to pay the fee every few years when I renew my visa, and it is frustrating considering I refuse to use the NHS.

"Stolen pram". In the UK there's an unwritten rule that stuff left out of the front of a house is generally "unwanted" and the owner just wants it gone. Nobody would leave their pram outside their house open to the elements and where it could easily be stolen. Look at the state of it - it's clearly unwanted. We have often left broken or old items outside our house before, as do many people, as scrap men drive around collecting them, often it does us a favour. To dispose of a washing machine/tumble dryer you'd have to pay a fee. About 12 years ago we stuck an old broken one outside of the house and whilst getting ready for school one day a bloke knocked, I opened the door and he had a pickup type van parked on the road and said "Hello mate, can I take it" pointing to the washing machine, to which the response was "Yes". Some people often leave old unwanted items outside of their house and put a sign next to it stating "Free, please take it" or "Please help yourself". They just want stuff gone and it's normally going to cost them money or take up their time to get rid of it, so they'll just let anyone have it for nothing. Win win situation - you get your rubbish taken away for free, the person collecting it takes it to a scrap yard and gets some money for it.

I am disabled both physically and mentally I live on the 7th floor in a tower block. It’s a struggle if the lift is out I can’t go out because I use a rollator, plus I’m very suicidal, I’m sure they are hoping I’d jump out the window then the elevator problem won’t matter because I won’t be here. I’m know immigrants need a helping hand but I had to give up work after paying tax since I was 16 and believe a family like mine should be offered a nice street level house or bungalow and then immigrants could have my flat, and these are the reasons I get angry. They could easily say to me would you mind giving your unsuitable home you live in and have a suitable property for my needs so we could home refugees in your flat, I could try to jump out of my wheelchair to grab the deal.

This is similar to the US. I am not anti-benefits but there are those truly in need and those working the system. We will leave disabled veterans living in the streets while doling out benefits to generations of families who have never worked. It mentally cripples the chronically poor as well as harming the economic system. There has to be a better way to get the help to those who need it while forcing able bodied folks off the welfare rolls.

Here in the states you have to be able to work for your benefits unless you’re physically or mentally disabled and they don’t allow you to claim if you have a really good car. My truck is 20 years old and my son and I are permanently disabled that is why we get it. England needs to stop being the international house of benefits

So I'm wondering if upon shutting down the filming the makers of this documentary went directly to the UK govt and informed them of all the names and addresses of the people they specifically just filmed on their journey whose SOLE intention was to defraud the UK citizens? For some reason I doubt it. And if not, I would venture to say that they too should be brought up on charges of aiding and abetting for attempting to profit off a known criminal organization. In fact the entire village should be brought up on racketeering as I would bet my left nut the entire village is subsidied by UK benefit money. I find the actions of these people DEPLORABLE and frankly, quite revolting. Anyone who could live a life like that and be happy to take from others has forfeited their right to survival in my opinion but I know I am in the VAST minority so feel free to admonish me for being the devil. Sometimes the truth isn't very nice, that's why everyone avoids it and in fact gets infuriated when confronted with the truth.

That's not aiding and abetting. Not grassing them up is definitely not "aiding" them in the legislation. Aiding them would be directly assisting them in committing any crimes, i.e facilitating money transfers, falsifying documents, etc. Just having knowledge of what they are doing and not informing authorities is not a crime. A man could watch someone shoplift from a store, the man isn't in trouble if the shoplifter is later caught and the man is identified as being a witness to it. It's no different.

Roma are NOT Romanians, but of Indian roots where they are classed as untouchables. I dare say some Romanians too come over as welfare tourists, but Roma are well known in mainland Europe, predominantly in the eastern part until fairly recently, for their criminal antics.
