My grandpa had a stroke, and then become legally blind, cuz he couldn't completely see. He could somewhat see blurry, but he got his driver license taken away cuz that's the law once ur legally blind. And besides that, there is a lot of apps that can help with texting and of course. Not everything needs to be watched to understand it. Ears do a lot of work too.

And then what happened? Were they arrested? Did they have to pay back the money they’d fraudulently received? I’m in the States, and I know a woman who was claiming Social Security and Disability benefits for years for a back injury with supposed debilitating pain. Someone (I don’t actually know who) turned her in as being a cheat, and investigators began taking pics and video of her doing things like standing on a ladder to trim a tree, shoveling landscaping rock out of a pickup bed, golfing, dancing, going down a water slide and roller blading with her kids. Based on this, she was found guilty of fraud and had to pay back the $38,000.00 that the taxpayers had given her. She had to get a real job, and they’ve been garnishing her wages ever since. Something similar needs to happen with the folks on this program. The forged document salesman guy just straight up needs jail time.

Impossible in Norway to cheat that way wit false doctors notes.. Doctors send in medical certificates online to all agengies concerned. Even prescriptions are sent online and you go to any pharmacy in the country and pick up your drugs.

I was on benefit for years. When my husband left me with small children. The benefit payments paid.. for a home for me and the children it paid for food. I'm very grateful for that .when my mother died and left some money. Some people said carry on getting the money. I said no I'm not entitled and if I had I would have felt ashamed. I am outraged watching these thiefs & their despicable behavior! I live in the U.S..have had 3 cervical spine surgeries to remove herniated disc's & fuse the vertebra, need brain surgery to remove a pituitary tumor that's caused me to have acromegaly (God-awful disease w/ horrific symptoms from too much growth hormone), have a herniated lumbar disc, permanent nerve damage in left leg/foot from shingles & neck surgeries, severe chronic pain & clinical depression for 30 years and I STILL don't apply for disability because I want to work & be self sufficient. Not dependant on the government. These losers need to be locked up for a long time AND pay it all back!!

I kept telling her it’s wrong we’re in our late 30’s it’s not worth it, it’s wrong, it’s not enough money….blah,blah. Outrageous. I live in the United States and I am on Social Security Disability Income for several serious preexisting conditions that are NOT fake. I can only work two hours a day, a have permanent nerve damage in my left foot after a blood clot, I have adrenal insufficiency which can be fatal among several other conditions. I have been hospitalized more times than I can count. I have endured 4 brain surgeries to remove a tumor on my pituitary gland. I have had 12 bouts of pneumonia that brought me to the brink of death. In addition, I am also asthmatic. I have also had severe depression and anxiety. I am constantly seeing specialists. My doctors have told me that I am not supposed to be alive today. Well, God is great! It took me TWO YEARS to get disability. I had to get an attorney involved. Now here you have, excuse my language, these fuckers who cheat the system like this! LOCK THEM UP!! Niklas Enblom I believe you! It’s a fight to get disability benefits in the US. I have a disabled daughter who has brain damage due to increased inter cranial pressure from blocked shunts. She was born with hydrocephalus. She has had 7 brain surgeries, has cerebral palsy, attention deficit disorder and is legally blind in one eye. Social Security has periodically made appointments for her with specialist doctors we don’t know for “re-evaluation”. Seriously? There is no miracle cure or magic pill and children/adults don’t outgrow brain damage! It’s a waste of time and money and it stresses us out to arrange to see these doctors on the day and time we are told to go. I’m a working mother so she’s always had health insurance. I just can’t believe they make it so difficult in this country!

I remember when I had to help my mom get on disability. She was a blue baby and then got scarlet fever at 6. Due to how bad her health was she wasn't supposed to survive past 21. Not only did she past that but had 12 pregnancies (they told her should would never had kids). After dad died it took a year to get her on disability at 60 years. She suffered multiple strokes, was blind, diabetic, depressed, severe arthritis in her back, shoulders, hands, legs, feet...you get the idea. Doctors couldn't perform any kind of surgery since she suffered strokes from anesthesia drugs. Even with all of that, I can't remember how many doctors they forced to go through. They were just trying to find a doctor who would say she could work. The government finally accepted the fact that she truly was disabled. She died 5 years after that from lung cancer.

So we live in Australia.. this year 2023 our 23 year old son announced he wanted to move to the uk and start his oe.. he arrived on his own on the youth mobility visa. He had paid for an air bnb room until he found work and a home. He did go with savings. We werent dumb enough to send him without money and we know if it got bad he could come home. He had a job within 4 days and 7 months later still there doing plumbing maintenance. Something he has never done. And he now has shared accommodation in Wimbledon. I ask him what its like in comparison to here.. he thinks food is really cheap but everything else is expensive. And he sees poverty everywhere. But he also said his boss was desperate for workers and could hardly get anyone especially locals. And before any one says hes gone over and stolen jobs.. hes contributing to a tax system that he has no rights to himself.. and that goes towards these benefits for those locals that didnt want to work...

A couple living next door to me were on benefits even though the guy was working full-time with the Council. She was a lazy cow who got the benefits by saying she lived alone. One day she asked me if I'd like to go to the mall with her and asked me to pay for the petrol for her car (I didn't). I suggested we have a coffee when we got there and she said let's just get a soft drink from the supermarket!!

I used to be a workers compensation adjuster, and we used to catch a lot of con artists that would like to get workman's compensation benefits for an injury. We had a guy who claimed to be disabled, but we caught him recruiting people to join his soccer team. He was jumping around and kicking the ball. But he told me the day before that he was in a lot of pain and that he needed someone to help him clean his house!

Seems like part of the issue for the benefits cheaters is the council or social security administration dont follow up with the forms, to see if the medical issue at hand is true and if its signed by a real doctor, or if a car accident or any accident has occured..It seems like the cheaters word is believed, and the benefits providers believe the forms are true and accurate..Obviously the #1 issue is that people fake medical issues etc to begin with..but the lack of follow up is clearly the reason it keeps happening..Even the people that are supposed to be legit like homeowners etc have a scam going on too, alot of people have their scams and opperations going on to make money!! Pitiful that people resort and live like this!!

Some of these people are actually likeable. I remember working all the hours god sends in a very busy restaurant for minimum wage (working every evening/weekend/bank holiday for a little over £800 a month- less than what these guys were making claiming fake benefits). I actually look back and realise I was a mug though. I’m not as angry with these people like I used to be and blame myself for accepting those working conditions.
