I'm on week 5 and here are the most significant things I experienced: (1) moderate anxiety, negative outlook, and mild depression for the almost a week; (2) my hunger "whispers" at me; it doesn't "scream" at me; (3) After about a week, my cravings for sugar reduced by about 90%; (4) Energy did not "go through the roof" as some have suggested. Some people make it sound like you'll have the post-cup-of-coffee energy all day. Not true. But, what did happen is I didn't "crash" and feel like napping in the afternoon; (5) I've lost weight but I'm not sure how much; (6) My thinking is clearer. I had started to have trouble sometimes trying to find the best word to say but now I can look for the word I want and it's there; (7) My endurance in a fasted state is amazing!

I quit all forms of sugar, four weeks ago I’m 53 years old. Not only have I lost weight and I have a lot more energy but the most amazing thing is that all my aches and pains have gone. I used to have trouble with my knees, as well as my lower back, which the doctor said, was caused by many years of manual work but I swear to God forget your cod-liver oil capsules for creaky joints, just cut our sugar. It’s a miracle cure.

I made it through 3weeks off sugar and simultaneously doing low carb/high fat and fiber made it much much easier. However, when I had a couple days where I didn't plan my meals well and had some simple refined carbs, it made me crave the sugar HARD. And that's when I fell off the wagon. I wanted to make it 4 weeks but having to start over now. I was bummed because I had already been feeling the benefits like better sleep/mood/energy/focus, better skin, and sustained energy. I'm convinced that cutting out or majorly reducing processed foods/refined and simple carbs is part of the key to making it easier to cut the sugar too. I also loved her tip/trick of doing a spoonful of coconut MCT oil to curb a craving (and I mix it with a bit of almond butter). It helps get past that moment. Power to you all giving it a shot!

I hear you! I have been off for months as my t2 diabetes was hard to control. I may have had one or two bites of a birthday cake. One cookie and rarely ate candy. Cut carbs, too. It is savng my organs so this is imperative for me. Under stress from a legal issue has bounced me to once a day to have sugar in some form. Will be over soon and I will cut out sugar once again. It is a worth to me to save my organs and diabetes meds are expensive. diet & excersize are best.

Sticking close to whole plant foods is what everyone agrees on. Some advocate larger amounts of wholefood plant fats than others, and some decide that extra carbs are a problem for weight loss. Basically, whole food plant based is the key. It's good that she's causing people to think about the refined foods they are having, maybe these guys will show her why it's great to be vegan.

I feel so much better eating high fat quality proteins diet with some veggies and a little fruit. I have heard some Vegans and especially vegetarians long term develope serious health issues. I have noticed my skin is better, my hair is growing back and looks like my white hair is turning black. Allergic to night shade veggies like tomatoes, peppers though I can take the skin and seeds out. Sometimes go carnivore for an elimination diet. I think people have to go with what works for them. i do agree about sugar it is evil.

I’m looking seriously about plant based. I’m 63 and loved all meat all of my life.was taught that’s what’s for dinner. Lately I have been less inclined to crave that meat and the plant based stuff I’m seeing looks and sounds so good plus the older I get the more my body wants different fuel. Does that makes sense. I only but sugar for my old man’s coffee. Don’t use it myself anymore.

Everyone does not agree on this at all. I think most, if not all, people agree to whole food, but not plant based. There are many with autoimmune conditions and gastrointestinal conditions who cannot eat plants. I, myself, believe in whole food meat based.

Yes!!! This is so true! I was just reading yesterday in a book I am going to be doing a review on over on my channel next week about how bad sugar is for you. Sugar messes up your liver because of the high amounts of concentrated fructose. Fructose can be handed by your liver in small amounts that you find in fruit, but drink a soda and that is a sugar bomb sent streight to your liver with the result of fat being accumulated there. Thank you so much for posting this video people really need to hear about this!

What is your point? If she reads and research enough she could become an expert in that subject. Doctors are people who studied enough to become subject matter expert and it happens to be medical. Many doctors are for sure not expert in sugar. I saw and know many doctors who are fat and look sick. For sure, those doctors are not fat and sugar expert because if they are they would take care of themselves and eat so much fat and sugar to be that big and sick looking.

@@ki5ngau Bloggers do not do that much research by comparison to a person who is trained in the field. Just because you write a book does not make you an expert. He advises to think if your grandma would recognise the ingredients, the less ingredients the better, and to “Eat real food”. Mostly plants, not too much. It’s a good book for anyone wanting to learn more about cutting out processed foods and focusing on whole foods.

They use maple syrup for the ethical vegans and they make sweets for the sweet tooth of many viewers. They also use applesauce, bananas, and dates as sweetener to make these sweets " healthier". It's hard to please everyone. They don't necessarily agree 100% with their guests. I think they know most of us can decide what we want to believe or not to believe. They also appear to support a low processed fat diet which she apparently doesn't.

If you found this video informative, you may also want to know that while marketing makes you think brown sugar is more natural than white sugar, the only difference is that brown sugar is turned to white sugar by adding phosphate! And when it comes to gut health, brown and white sugar have similar effects!

@@lynnettemurphy8243 I avoid mirrors, but I've lost weight ( just over 3 stone / 46lbs ) since stopping sugar ( or some days cutting down drastically). Sugar ( or lack of) can't take all the credit though as I also gave up alcoholic drinks and snacking late at night ( I now don't eat after about 7pm) I don't think that all the sugary stuff I used to eat made my skin much different or bad, seeing that I didn't notice any difference after not having any most days. The wrinkles bit made me laugh though....maybe it works for younger people.
