Ceder is considered to be harmful because of the odor it produces. Whether it is burnt or not burnt, it produces a smell that can be toxic to chickens' respiratory system. Pine is also considered harmful and poisonous components. To the best of my knowledge, use ash obtained from plants like maize combs and dried beans for ingestion. Use others for sand baths and beddings except pine and cedar.
