Benelli Lupo Rifle Test & Review

A few years ago Benelli entered the rifle market with the Benelli Lupo rifle. Since its release, I have been curious about how this rifle would perform. In this video, I take Lupo rifle to the range and put it through its paces and let you know my thoughts on how this rifle handled.

I'm looking hard at one of these, and your review seems fair. For me, a few inches at 100 yards isn't a big deal. That's still accurate. As you said, it's a hunting rifle, and many follow up shots ain't how that usually goes.

Well it depends. If that’s the case then this gun isn’t suitable for driven hunts which you should know as a European for instance because of the fact that’s driven hunts are very common and traditional here. On the other hand if it’s just a few inches at 100 yards, you will still be within heart-size on 50 yards.

Nice review, thanks! Seems like there are some minor differences between the US and EU versions. I own the EU version in .300 Win Mag, which has the BE.ST coating on the bolt, while the US version doesn't. Also, I didn't notice increased group sizes after several shots. I shot 10 rounds within 3 minutes just a few days ago using Hornady Superformance 165grs (two 5 shot groups) and the second group was just as good as the first one (0.5 MOA). Is it that hard to get silencers in the US? In Germany, you can just go to the store and buy a slincer if you own a hunting license. However, if you are not a hunter, you can't get one at all.

@@TheCommonPatriot I made another test today. This time I shot four 5-shot groups within 5 minutes. The rifle was equipped with an A-Tec Optima 50 suppressor and I used the same Hornady Superformance 165 grain GMX ammo as last time. The first two groups were a 0.5 inch and a 0.55 inch group. The third group was a 0.64 inch group and the fourth group was a 0.9 inch group (distance 100m = 109 yards). After 20 shots, the barrel and the suppressor were very hot. I think there are two factors that influenced the fourth group: The hot barrel and the mirrage from the hot suppressor. Also insteresting to see that the first groups were even tighter than those from the last test. Since I didn't use the suppressor in the last test, I guess the additional weight at the muzzle increases accuracy.

@@TheCommonPatriot Really? I thought it looked longer than that. What kind of range are you very accurate to? Do you lose alot of accuracy with that short of barrel? Are they still considered a "legal" pistol? I've been trying to look into it but can't find anything very clear
