Benelli: Montefeltro Silver Featherweight 20 Gauge

Good video. That is a beautiful shotgun, no question. The cartridge release lever + the carrier release button on a Benelli make for a complicated, non-intuitive loading design that I never quite learned to use well when I owned a Montefeltro. Also, the loading gate on a Benelli will sometimes bite your thumb causing a Christian man to say un-Christian words. ~~ You're a great shot on a clay target. I never was able to hit skeets reliably with my Benelli no matter the choke. ~~ I'm also from Alabama, and the Wal-Marts around here haven't had any 20 gauge shotshells for 8 or 10 months.

Thank you for your comment and for watching the video. Is it Roll Tide or War Eagle? LOL. Our LGS finally got in a pallet of 20 ga but you could only buy one case. I have plenty of 12 ga so I opted for the 20 ga. It’s easier to get it online and usually cheaper but I like supporting my local businesses. Again thanks for watching.

@@Kornholeeoo -- We are generally a Roll Tide family, but more so we're a UNA Lions family. All the skeet ranges that I find in north Alabama are private/member-only outfits, so if I'm ever to learn how to hit a flying clay target I'm going to have to do what you're doing with my own skeet thrower. What is the brand & model of thrower you're using there? I think I see that you're powering yours with the battery of your truck. I will probably purchase a thrower later this year, esp. if you recommend that model.

@@cracky_wainwright It is the Champion WheelyBird 2.0 Auto-Feed Trap on the Wobble base. I got this one at Cabelas. I do have another video on it. The slinger and the wobble base are two different items and I don’t use the wobble base much unless I have a large field to shoot from. I did have one issue with it because the micro switch up front had moved from the vibration and the thing wouldn’t reset between throws and it would just sling one after the other. LOL. But I put a wrench on the micro witch and tightened it up and that fixed it. This thing is powerful so if you get one, follow the safety warnings. It can break a leg or arm real quick. It seems like the featherweight is also called the ultralight deluxe and comes with a silver or black locking knob. Benelli makes this confusing.

Yes they do. Mine came with the featherweight book but had a silver knob.

The feahterweights I see pictures on Benelli's seem to have a raised rib and all the others Montefeltros look flat. I know some Benelies have replacable ribs just wondering if yours was replaced? Or perhaps it is just the year manufactored.

Mine is not a featherweight. I was mistaken. I was going by the engraving but both the Silver and featherweights have this. My bad.

I was about to comment on that. The featherweight only holds 2 in the tube and one in the chamber. I had to do a double take when I saw you load more lol. I have the featherweight version and they are great guns. Absolute dove slayers

Awesome video! I’m considering to buy one for my 10 year old son, so that I could take him out to skeet shooting. Do you think this would be a good choice?

Absolutely if shooting light loads. 3” rounds have a little punch. But for clays, it’s fantastic! Let me know how it goes!!!

Good video, not to bust your bubble, but I don't believe that is the featherweight model. Yours has the silver barrel screw, the featherweight has a black cap. Those guns are beautiful, wish I had one...

You may be right. Mine is 5.6 lbs but the box said it was the Featherweight. At least I think it did. I’ll check it when I get back home tonight.

You are correct. I was told it was the featherweight with a 25” barrel. It’s actually 25 3/4” making it a 26” barrel, not a 24”. And the paperwork says Silver. Found it stuffed in the manual. I do stand corrected. Thanks for telling me this. I doubt I would have ever checked it out.

It’s the Tactacam 5.0. They are on eBay for @ $300. It’s just a camera with a dot for visualization upon replay. You cannot see it while shooting. Yet watching the replay, it can help you know where to aim.

@@HawjOutdoors I walked in the store and it was on the used rack with new gun asking price. On consignment. Told the store what it was worth and what I was willing to pay. They called the guy. Went back in the next week and the price had been lowered to what I said I would pay. So I bought it. I have never seen this shotgun in any other store, only on the Benelli website. Lucky find.
