Streakfly is first time trying zoomx foam. So fast. I actually ordered a pair of vaporfly 2s because of how good Streakfly feels. $187 for vaporfly wasn't terrible.
@robertw49182 жыл бұрын
Glad you felt that you could run fast in it. Many previous reviewers said that it wasn't faster than other super shoes. But it felt fast to me and I am a slower runner. It feels plush, which might throw some people off, but once you get going you don't think about it and the pebax energy return works great. Also I would do all my runs in it, but as you mentioned probably not durable enough (also a little expensive vs Liberate Nitro) and will save it for fast workouts and races.

Well done Ben. A win and a PB - can't get much better than that. As for the Streakfly in my testing I felt the NEXT% was still fastest for me but then again I would need a time machine to keep up with you these days so I wonder if it is a shoe that faster runners can get more out of than more average ones. That was largely the problem with racing flats and why the likes of the NEXT% have made such an impact - the cushioning is as good as most "cushioned" daily trainers but way lighter and responsive. I was not feeling the same response or as much cushioning in the Streakfly although do like it and it is reasonably priced - well when the next drop is which is reportedly soon.
@BenIsRunning2 жыл бұрын
Its possible that the faster you run the more benefit you get from these. The alphafly in contrast ive found from peoples thoughts make a runner of any speed more efficent and therefore faster :)

Great review, Ben! In line with the majority of reviews I’ve seen. Lots also mentioning the bunching up at the bottom of the laces… bet Nike will take a look at that for future versions. It does seem the quicker/better the runner, the more they like this shoe. I feel a huge uplift when I wear the Vaporfly so I’ve a feeling it might not be a great 5/10k option for me right now.
@BenIsRunning2 жыл бұрын
I feel like with the streakfly you are more in control of the shoe where as in the vaporfly it’s more I control of you in terms of energy return. I’m also aware that I may just be that new shoe placebo so will do some testing between the two soon :)
@JackD872 жыл бұрын
@@BenIsRunning yeah that makes total sense. I feel like I bounce along on the plate of the Vaporfly. Would be interesting if you did a threshold pace comparison of the two… and maybe the Sen8 too? I remember you had a great track session in them. Sticking to the same pace and comparing HR after.

I am just gona use them on the threadmill and the ocassional pavement run outside on good weather. in my oponion if you have a bunch of other shoes to run with then this sneaker is fine, but if someone is trying to make this their main and onyl shoes they use to run in then its not the ideal investment. A recent lab test showed that with the Asics Hyperspeed as the control shoe, the Vaporfly Next% 2 offered a 3.35% increase in running economy, the Alphafly offered 3.93% increase, but the Streakfly offered a 1.48% DECREASE in running economy.. even the Nike Invincible Run offers a better running economy at a 1.17% decrease versus the control shoe. Of course, running economy isn’t everything.. but theoretically the Streakfly makes you slower than you would be in most shoes, and the Alphafly is your best option for everything from the mile to the marathon & beyond

Except a very good runner like Ben is going to run fast in any shoe designed for racing as this clearly it is. It doesn't stop other KZbinrs comparing this one to other racing shoes and giving their opinions on which they think they might go fastest in. Anyway that is difficult to judge as you can't run the race over again on fresh legs and compare times. Clearly works well for Ben but very few of us are capable of these times and he is clearly improving with almost every race on training and experience not just shoes. Probably will be sub 31 before long on a better day. So does it work as well for 40 min 10K runners, 50 min ones etc etc
