I was lucky enough to get the proto in the US release. It's 100% a tempo trainer for me, but I never expected anything different. I have the Vaporfly and Alphafly. Streakfly is fast but it takes a little more effort. Great trainer and an excellent race option if you don't want to spend $200-$275 on a plated shoe. Comparing it to the Vaporfly is almost unfair. This shoe is $160, which is an excellent value in my opinion. I'm happy. Great video!

I can see why some might think the Rebel v2 is the "same experience" but for me it isn't. The Streakfly feels more connected to the ground, not as soft and just less shoe. Although both have 6mm drop I noticed it more in the Rebel v2 and that's from somebody who only normally runs in 8-10mm drop shoes. I gave up on the Rebel v2 as just found it too soft and didn't really like that low drop feeling but am not getting that feeling in the Streakfly. As for "daily training" guess might need to qualify what that means. I had been doing about 70 miles a week until got some niggles of late so would I use this "daily" for that - no way. I just don't need a shoe this light and "racy" to do say 10 mile easy road runs. Besides it may well only last 3 or 4 weeks if I did! If that 10 miles was a lot faster then maybe and I have once but did think I was pushing my luck for that sort of length run in terms of the protection it was offering compared to a carbon racer. So probably going to be short distance road or track reps or tempos for me although TBH like my races still not convinced the NEXT% isn't just better for me for all that too.
@matthewsenior42082 жыл бұрын
I think the Streakfly are not meant to rival the Vaporfly, more to compliment it. The Vaporfly should be saved for premium race days whereas the far cheaper Streakfly can be used for the low key shorter races/park runs & training. I guess it is a rival to the Takumi Sen 8 but that is overpriced.

I have the RC elite 2 rn for workouts, I’m a 1500-800 runner in college, thinking about getting the streakflies for xc training next year because having such a high stack height of squishy foam makes running anything quicker than 4:20-4:15 pace feels like the shoe is working against you, like it’s too quick of a pace for them. I think having smaller amounts of zoom x foam in the shoe would be better because it would be easier on the legs but also make it easier to his those paces without having to feel like I have to put on spikes to run that quick

Interested to know from those that are commenting on here, when you say "save the Vaporflys for race day" how many races/what sort of mileage are you doing? As a 10k runner, I'm only doing maybe 5 races a year currently so they barely get worn. I've started using them for the odd tempo run or if I'm going for a 5/10K PB outside of a proper race, just to get more usage! Equally if I wear them too much, they won't be at their best for the proper races! Ha, first world problem I know. Appreciate they are more marathon orientated, but at £155 I couldn't resist and the difference even over 5/10k is huge!
@franklehouillier88652 жыл бұрын
The efficiency gains for vaporfly/alphafly start diminishing at about 80 miles. That's 3 marathons or 2 marathons and 2 tuneup half marathons, which is about as much as most marathoners do in a year.
@stefan23382 жыл бұрын
I am still wondering why Nike introduced the Streakfly. It is superlight, but other than that a fairly conventional shoe. IMHO the Vaporfly 4% FK is by far superior and Nike could have just reduced its stack height by a few mm, 5-10k supershoe is ready!
@EDDBUD2 жыл бұрын

@pensiveape61842 жыл бұрын
For shorter runs Puma Liberate Nitro is by quite a margin the best shoe, especially if you take into consideration the price. Close to that comes for me Skechers Razor+ but it's more expensive shoe. Please don't tell me about Adidas Adizero 6, everybody is praising this shoe, but for me, it's a junk.I swear this is my last Adidas shoes I bought. The other junk I have is Adizero Pro. Luckily I had some significant discount on both junks so I will use them as "lifestyle 3 stripes shoes" and nothing else. NB Rebel 2 is too soft and unstable. So much about "shoes for shorter distances like 5-10 km", which is nonsense. From Nike either you buy Vapourfly Next% or forget about Nike. All other Nikes I have are expensive junk. Despite the outlandish price Vpf Next% is worth it. It's an extraordinary shoe, which was really very surprising for me, because I have very low opinion about Nike running shoes. But since everyone was raving about it I decided to take a risk. It was worth it. So if Nike, either spend the money and buy Vpf Next%, or buy something else. But with Vpf Next% I don't see any reason why not to use it for any distance. Don't bother with this marketing stunt of 5 km shoe. It's a nonsense unless you are the next world champion. Which I doubt.

Edd. Danke schön. The vaporflys at least here in Denmark, Are almost double the Price of that streakfly thingy. Not really sure the comparison Are fair. Id rather hear how it compares to the adios 6 and the rebel v2? Those are closer price wise and non plated

Much for forgiving than the adios 6, though a great deal lighter too. The rebel 2 is close but i like the zoomx underfoot over the fuelcell foam.
