We need more buses for last mile connectivity. After metro construction, the roads have become shorter and hence adding traffic congestion. Though BMRCL promised of wider roads, not much have we seen roads getting widened. Footpaths are another misery

When you mentioned roads becoming shorter, you mean after the metro construction became completed or during the metro construction?

Roads may not be widened but more road can be added with flyovers and underpasses.

The pace of construction is rather disappointing. This project was conceived around 2004-05 when I was 18yrs old and was very ecstatic that by the time I would come out of college, I would be commuting via metro and not think about buying vehicles. Now in my mid 30's, I have pretty much given up on this vanity project.

Similarly in Pune the Metro work is stuck since decades. Politicians don't bother as they have government owned cars. It's the common people who have issues.

We got to pay our taxes. Many who are simply too rich have found ways to make their ill-gotten money through channels to make it legit and everyone pays. Corruption slows down further. It is disappointing.

It started in 2011. And really took off in 2015. Plus this phase 2 is only because of Modi's infrastructure push. But things are going ok right now. I use metro quite a lot and it's been amazing

@@user-ds1ym5qd3v bro lucknow metro daily ridership is just 60,000 while Kochi metro with 3 more km than lucknow is having daily ridership of 3,65,000. Lucknow metro is running on loss. Earlier Jaipur metro was a big flop. It's better to complete metro connectivity in top 8 cities then only to medium cities.

Not an expert but, i feel we need to make sure bus or other public transport act as feeder only service to Metro for travel from one end to another, and restrict buses to a zone, so that it reduce the buses chugging from one end to another other on congested roads and all stuck at some jam at the same time. One more is, add different bus sizes at different times of the day based on traffic and road space availability for narrow roads. Just adding my thoughts so it helps commute hassle free.
