Again a GREAT VIDEO Same question - Do RYZEN processors have less life then INTEL processors? What are your recommendation from HP or DELL (1000dollar bugdet) for beginner video editor who is going to learn editing for the first time on laptop (davinci resolve free version). For 1080p to rare 4k footage editing.

It's hard to say as the ryzen 4000's are still quite new and a lot has changed since the 3000. However, it looks promising for AMD if we take into account the stress and heat the CPU's put themselves under, they are better CPU's on every level so far!

What I'm mainly worried about on the Lenovo flex 5 is the pen. If AAAA batteries eventually become rarer, it might be hard to switch the battery, to the point where I prefer a rechargable pen. Do other rechargable pen options fit in the pen holder on this device? Are there rechargable pen options?

hey ben, thanks for this video so i am a graphic designer, and also wanna do some basic animation and some super light video editing, so my final options are, the modern 15, it's a really good option but i don't see a lot of reviews on it, so i am having trouble finalizing it, i am so glad you are reviewing budget laptops and solving real life problems! the asus zenbook 14 2019 one, core i7, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd, i am very inclined towards it but it doesn't have a dedicated graphic card other one is asus duo 14, but in core i5 and lastly, if these three aren't worth the deal then i might chuck the thin and light laptop, and get a gaming laptop for a better performance what do you think i should do? also, your videos have been extremely helpful in this process of buying a laptop, i wish i could use the affiliated links but i stay in india so can't :( but thank you so much :)
@BenGKaiser3 жыл бұрын
If you are doing light video editing then the ZenBook 14 would work well with the ZenBook 14. However if you are doing animation in after Effects this laptop will struggle as After Effects really like a dedicated GPU. I will be reviewing the Modern 15 in the next week or two. So if you can hold out I will be posting that in a bit.

If you find that it is not satisfactory you may be able to return it in the 30-day Window. Please forgive me for not responding, you comment must have slipped by. Even tho I am too late, here are the Windows Laptops I recommend: 💻 Acer Spin 5 ( geni.us/Spin5-i710 - Commission Earned ) 💻 Asus Zephyrus G14 ( geni.us/G14-R7-4800HS - Commission Earned ) 💻 MSI Prestige 15 FHD ( geni.us/Prestige15-16gb - Commission Earned ) These all come in at a decent price with good color gamut range.

Spin series laptops usually get terribly hot. If they waited out 10th gen for Tiger Lake or Ryzen 4000 they could've helped themselves but the damage was done with past mistakes. The change to a 3:2 aspect ratio has gotten it a bit of attention

I'd stay away from a laptop getting temperatures over 90°. That acer spin is a furnace. I bought the lenovo for $600 with the pen and 16gb of RAM, it gets to a max of 75° when gaming at 1080p and it feels very hot, can't imagine that acer spin's aluminum chasis when it peaks 90 degrees, untouchable.

Wow. Numbers are not explained properly, just some percentages. Laptops' specs are not clear. There are tons of similar models with different configuration. Basically Acer's CPU is way slower, Lenovo beats it at every corner as day to day laptop, for studying with lots of apps opened, multitasking, programming, data processing, trading. GPU in Lenovo is not the best, so it's not for gaming or video editing. But besides all that it seems as a better choice. Acer has 2K screen, but it's not a game changer for such a small diagonal. As for brightness, Acer uses PWM for that. That's bad for your health.

Not real happy with Acer spin 5 13 2-1 laptop (54N)- The pen is awful for drawing- too thin- and Acer 'tech support' apparently doesn't know what pens can replace it- and the site doesn't have a replacement pen should the supplied one's nib wear out- i guess they don't even sell nibs- wish i had known all this before buying- The touch it kinda hit or miss- it mostly works, but every now and again takes several tries to close a tab- Their 'tech' tells me a bamboo ink pen will work- but reviews on those pens are kinda pretty bad as far as jitter go It's too bad because the specs are awesome! 2 Thunderbold port,s usb-c port, 1-7 with 16 gig ram and 512 HD which is blazingly fast start up (8 seconds), hdmi port, Micro SD Card slot for storage up to 1 TB I think) headphone jack- Tracpad = meh it's ok- not great- the cover on laptop scratches easily- I wanna keep it but the pen issue is too much as i bought this for art- painting, drawing- I didn't realize the pen issue woudl be as bad as it is as far as finding a solid larger replacement pen to use- their support at hte site is practically useless I'm afraid- their community support several people have asked the same thing- they want better pen- no answers from acer or other users - info on the pens is very limited- it's been a frustrating experience trying to find info

just another note about acer- ram is soldered too i believe, as is the HD- so no user upgrades later I'm told-
