Granger Motors, Inc (Ford, Jeep, Dodge dealer) in Iowa is EXCEPTIONAL...PHENOMENAL. Granger is ALL about the customer. I purchased a 2022 Ford F350 Lariat 7.3L - UP - BAP - Tremor Package with Warn 12,000 LB winch at 2% BELOW invoice......when most all other dealers were selling these trucks at MSRP or an additional $5,000 to $10,000 above MSRP. The truck is awesome!!! I live in a remote scenic area...Rocky Mountain state and it was well worth the plane fare and 865 mile drive home. Granger operates with bottom line pricing, no add-ons or markups and great service!

I drive a '94 Ford F250, full load, 7.3 turbo diesel. I paid $4500 for it about 5 years ago. It has about 150,000 miles on it. Other than some minor things, it's been a pretty good truck. I look at the prices of these new trucks and I have no idea how people can afford to own them. I certainly can't afford it, and really have no desire to buy one. I like my old truck.

I have owned my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie for 4 years now, and it has 34,000 miles on it. I literally searched from coast to coast for it, and I found it in Alexandria, VA. The dealership had it in their showroom for 6 months when I bought it. The list price was $57,200, and a similarly equipped 2023 model is $67,125. The dealership let me have my Ram for $45,000 plus tax, tag and title. I hated to pay that much for a fully equipped crew cab 4 X 4, but it was $6000 cheaper than I could buy a comparable Chevy, Ford or Toyota. About every two weeks, I get an offer from the selling dealership for $35,000 trade-in credit on one of their new 2023 models. This sounds good, but I would have to pony up another $32,000 to buy a 2023 model. I have no inducement to trade. My 2019 Ram is the best truck I have ever owned. It drives like a Mercedes, and it gets the best mileage I ever experienced for a big V-8 4 X 4 truck . I drove this truck roundtrip on a 4000 mile trip from Virginia to Arizona averaging 72 miles per hour and got 22.0 miles to the gallon. I had only one problem with the truck in 4 years of ownership. I had to have the overhead console replaced, and the dealership did this at no cost to me.

I agree. I have a 2014 RAM Limited and I really love the fit and finish, but the air suspension fails me in the winter, not the summer (and I like that it can raise or lower), and it just cost me almost $4,000 to get brakes all around, rotors ( only on the front), and a tune up (16 spark plugs for the Hemi). I love the ride, but the truck is 9 years old and I think it is time to upgrade. I just cannot justify $70k+ for a new vehicle. I've got to say, I love my Ram! Unlike many 5th gen Ram owners, I haven't had very many problems with mine. I had 1 recall, a factory brake problem at 5K miles. But my biggest complaint about my 2019 Ram Big Horn is the cheap paint. It's sad to see such a fine vehicle suffer from crappy paint. I live in KS, after less than a year the front of my truck looked like it had been driven through several sand storms. After 5 years of ownership, It's much worse now. Also, the paint just began peeling away on my back bumper for no reason. No hits or scratches? When I inquired about WHY, I was told by my dealership that Ram has change to a newer paint chemistry. (Huh?) This is my 2nd Ram Big Horn, I am at 72K miles. The first one (2017 Big Horn/4th Generation-NO problems) was TOTALED in an accident about 5 years ago with 17K miles. While at a dead stop on the freeway in traffic, I was rear ended by another vehicle at 65MPH. I sustained a concussion & a broken left shoulder, but thanks to the & design quality of the build, I did walk away from the accident. Like others, I belong to a Ram website. The major complaints that come in are mostly "electronic gremlin" complaints. (Engine malfunctions & electronics/entertainment system problems.) Too bad Ram has let the quality of their vehicles slip. I would probably would buy another one, but I just don't trust their warranties, or their dealerships any longer. Sad to say, after over 5 years of happy ownership, I'll be looking for another brand.

Ram shot themselves in the foot. Especially in the heavy-duty market, they are selling a 2010 truck with 2023 prices, yes the interior is different but the old cab, no telescoping steering wheels, pulling options while cranking prices. Also along with the interest rates now you're looking at a 1000-1500 dollar payment and most people can't float the payment for a 6 speed truck with significantly worse specs than Ford.

It's simple really, it's because these manufacturers are pricing out the everyday American, making it nearly impossible to find a real deal, and making it so your average person cannot justify buying or leasing a new truck. The price jumps, dealerships charging over MSRP, and manufacturers halting production in order to keep supply low, thus keeping demand high is all making buying or leasing a new truck a commodity only for the "rich". These manufacturers are literally to blame for this.

I agree with you but I’ll do you one better. I’ve been shopping in my area of NC for about a month now, and the biggest culprit in my region are the dealers and the dealer installed options and excessive prices for them. 98% of the new 1500’s coming on the lots and the remaining 22’s all have these dealer options installed and they refuse to NOT put them on. I even inquired about some in transit and they still refuse to not put these option’s, modifications and lift kits on trucks coming on the lot here. This is pushing the pricing up substantially once they hit the floor. It’s mind blowing to me how greedy the dealerships are getting. You can go to most any Ram dealers in and around my surrounding area and they are full of trucks with these options. I spent 5 years in the car business and this is something we never did.

Full disclosure I’m on my 4th GM truck. With that said I really wanted a ram this time. For me it was all about infotainment. Ram was first to put in that huge display. I was very jealous. But GM has caught up with the 2023 refresh. Not only is it better looking…..it’s available in every trim level except the custom! Ram wants to bait you into a high trim level for something that is no longer unique to just Ram. The GMC Sierra elevation gave me just what I needed and they still give you the same infotainment center the Denali gets. Ram needs to just make the damn big screen standard across the line and for Christ’s sake LED headlights are not a luxury item anymore.

Focusing on the need to "refresh" packages is silly. Durability, Functionality, working power, frame strength is what matters for a truck buyer. "Bells and whistles" are not the real issue. Massive price increases, phony mark-ups at dealerships that the customer has to find and then line by line demand be removed are the real reasons people who actually buy a truck to work it, rather than those who just want a "toy" are not buying. I had a 1993 Ram 1500 and put 371,000 miles on before I sold it in 2009. I still see it running around today. I have not seen or heard of anyone with a new Ram getting that much work-life out of a Ram made past 2006. Now they are even worse quality but more than double the price. Same goes for Ford and the GM family. Durability and work performance is way down and the prices have skyrocketed. Dealerships are ridiculously dishonest now and the manufacturers, knowing about it, do nothing. I will try a Toyota this time.

I bought my 2022 2500 Laramie almost one year ago exactly for 61,600 MSRP/Sticker was 62,600. I had to drive 500 miles to get it but saved a good 7K vs my home dealer who was marking them up a few K and offered less on trade. It had been built like Dec. 2021. I continued to "build" that truck at the Ram website until they shut down the 2022 ordering on the website. The last time I built it, sometime in Nov, the price was up pushing 71K... So, my truck went up over 7/8K during that time. When I bought, I got 7K equity on my 2021 1500 traded in over what I owed and one K for trading at the dealership off MSRP. The 1500 wasn't cutting it for towing... Well, all in all last March, I thought I got an OK deal with no mark up and a couple K more on the trade in vs home AND, that was just when gas went up AND interest rates were...getting ready...to go up. I knew I was in a window for purchase. I KNEW interest rates were going up and was able to get a 3.24% loan so, I made out like a bandit there as they went up over a percentage point by April/May 2022. Right now in a 2023 2500, a roughly equivalent Laramie to mine is window stickered between 72K and 73K... So, in retrospect, I got a killer deal if you are comparing now with then, one year ago almost exactly... today is March 7, 2023. This is getting outrageous.

RAM and the others have just one way to justify such high prices.... crash safety. IF they were to produce the safest truck in a crash... then the price would be justified. IMO they need to go with safety and reliability and make a vehicle that is back in the mid-30s. As for the EV... take what they have that works and find ALL the things customers don't like and fix them. If the dealers keep gouging start doing direct to consumer sales. and make the trucks easy to service by owners. Interest rates are going up, not down so offering better rates also will help. I am a first time RAM truck owner and like my truck, but I did not like the price and the dealerships are not a positive.

I put more of the blame on voters that elected incompetent politicians. Inflation always hits the middle class the hardest. It’s not like ram executives decided to start being greedy. At the end of the day, companies have to make a profit.

I honestly prefer the look of the RAM "Classic" to the new design. A knob for gear selection is dumb in my opinion. Also, do away with the Quad Cab. People keep getting taller and wider every generation, so the cab and a half body style is useless. That goes for GM (Double Cab) and Ford (Super Cab) as well. Make a regular cab. Make a crew cab. The in between size is useless and unnecessary.

I have a 2016 1500 outdoorsman with 237,000 miles on it. Not one issue other than a new water pump at around 160,000 miles. I pull a 8,500 lb camper with it spring through summer and have put over 35,000 miles on it pulling the camper. By far the best truck I’ve owned and I’ve owned all of the big three.

Yep it's still a Dodge truck rebadged to Ram to boost sales. Plus it has the worst depreciation under Ford and GM trucks. Just the facts..............

After waiting for 2023 F450 Limited for over 9 months, I went to Ram dealer and picked up 2023 Ram 3500 HO 6.7 with night edition. I traded in my 2020 F350 DRW 6.7 Lariat for the Ram. Ram drives so much better and smooth. I am glad that I made this change. Pricing is in par with Ford and Chevy. Economy and interest rate is what is lowering the sales total.

Been looking at all trucks lately thinking we want the last one we will ever buy. Holy cow all the bells and whistles that can and will go wrong on the new ones! Not to mention the ridiculous prices. Currently have a 2014 V8 Silverado with 70k miles getting 22 mpg and a 1999 Ford F250 7.3L PowerStroke Diesel with over 450K miles and still running strong with no rebuilds. Ford SD gets 19-20 mpg consistently. Decided to repaint, reupholster, headline, new lights, mount a tablet off the dash for infotainment. Fix the tranny and rebuild the motor if ever needed and keep our money in our safe and pray the diesel doesn't get stolen.

In Ontario Canada, I am looking at a Longhorn with a bunch of options included and it prices out at 96,000. Currently, there's a 10% manufacturer reduction and the dealer is knocking 5,500 off which brings it to around 80,000 CAD. A comparable Ford or Chevy is significantly more expensive. They aren't offering the same discounts. If I look at a Ford King Ranch, or Chevy AT4 it's way more money.

I paid about 63,000 for a 2019 RAM Laramie 4x4 5.7 (New) with an after market snow tire option bed rails, bed liner, and lift kit, but I really like my truck and have had it ever since! Yes, the price is high, but Ford is known for rust because of the cheap coatings. My truck only has a little over 40,000 miles on it now and I take care of it! One thing that I think Dodge should do, is add stainless steel header shorty's on their trucks and a 6.4 Liter high performance oil pump! This would keep the engine wear to a minimum without breaking exhaust bolts on the manifolds!

Strange how the Canadian market differs. Up here GM is the most expensive and Ford and RAM are kinda tied price wise. The RAM dealer in my town has a ton of stock to the point they needed an overflow lot BUT I see the trucks in the overflow disappearing. Also, there's nothing wrong with the 4th gen. Just got OUT of a 5th gen Laramie and went back to a new 4th gen almost fully loaded (only missing leather and sunroof) Warlock 4X4. More truck like, has all the features I want and NONE of the tech features I don't want. Picked it up for the USD equivalent of about $42,000. The Laramie rode really nice, but almost TOO refined for me. As far as engines, I personally prefer familiar and tested powertrains.

To me, truck prices are a joke. I’m in the market for a midsize and one option I am seriously considering is buying closer to base and buying aftermarket infotainment, suspension, led lights, wheels and tires. This option is coming out much less expensive with much more value.

Definitely the pricing. I’m active duty with great credit and no real debt and I couldn’t justify swinging the price for a truck. I’d love a new Ram Rebel but I’m gonna end up buying used and saving myself $20,000.

I bought my 2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Tradesman brand new for 28,500 sale price plus the typical overhead. Got out the door for 30K. 5.7 Hemi with the 65RFE transmission. Good luck finding a brand new truck with a regular cab these days for that price let alone a 4 door. The only difference I can see comparing my tradesman to an SLT is the body colored bumper cover which I installed, a chrome grille insert from the more upscale truck, and 20 inch wheels (Installed 3.92 gears for the wheels). What I see for pricing at the dealers is insane so I shall keep my paid off truck.
