In Benidorm now. Went to Chinese restaurant ( near Yellow Submarine) for my mother’s 100 th birthday. The food was delicious and staff lovely. Thank you Benidorm❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've been coming to Spain from the 60s and have always found it exiting, friendly, welcoming and relaxing. I don't think Spain has anything to worry about. I for one love coming to Spain, as do most people I know. We will be coming to Benidorm at the end of May. The last time we were there was 47 years ago after staying in Calpe. The press have a Iot to answer. The only thing that will stop the Brits coming is if the Spanish don't want us there.

Unfortunately it’s not just The Sun, and some of the rubbish headlines have to be libellous surely. There is a daily stream of misinformation (one day last week 3 stories in one day) about Benidorm and Spain generally on my news feed sourced from an online version of a local newspaper in the Midlands.

Been to Benidorm for family holidays and wouldn’t hesitate to come on my own as a solo traveller. It’s definitely a safe town. If anyone is worried I’d like to assure you, that you’ll be safe and have a wonderful holiday 😊

Been going to Benidorm serval times a year since 2004 never felt unsafe. You just have to keep your wits about you if out on own in back streets in the early hours, just like any city.

If you want to boost tourism along the Costa Blanca, how about installing frequent and dependable train and bus services? Getting anywhere without a car is a nightmare, and the cost of taxis is another nightmare.

For information only somebody from our hotel last night was robbed of wallet with credit cards and cash. When he went to police station they said that’s 21. Just carry small amounts of money no flash jewellery and if anybody comes close be on red alert Not scaremongering it happens everywhere❤ near Yellow Submarine bar

There's a lot of scaremongering on different benidorm sites at the moment about people getting mugged and about the red lion bouncers beating people up what a load of rubbish. I'm not saying things don't happen but let's get things in persspective there's thousands of people who visit benidorm every year all year round. Obviously you will get the odd incident. But people are saying benidorm isn't safe I can honestly say I've been going to benidorm for quite a few years now on the annual jolly boys outing. And I've been on the strip at silly o.clock in the early hours and quite drunk as well and I haven't ever seen or heard of anything going on not even an argument everyone is so friendly. In my experience. There's much more trouble in a lot of u.k. towns and cities I totally feel 💯 % safe in benidorm and can't wait to return in August.

The Red Lion lot are, I'm afraid, as bad as the report suggests. I saw it with my own eyes just last year. Give anyone of them the wrong "look" and a dozen or more of them appear from nowhere all brandishing Bats of various shapes n sizes. When one English Lad took a beating [in the street] we asked them to call an Ambulance, they just laughed and went back into the Pub. These are not Spanish people, they looked suspiciously like Pakistanis to me. They will never again get a cent of my money. No problems anywhere else & I have been going to Benidorm since being a fresh faced / flat stomached 21yo ... that was in 1977.

We are an old couple and walking home one evening as we passed the red lion in February, the bouncers were kicking and stamping a lad that was on the ground outside. He managed to get up and staggered up the road. They followed him punching him. His poor girlfriend was distraught trying to ring for the police. So my take is bouncers have a difficult job to do dealing with drunks, however once the guy had left the premises, the violence should stop.

I came in 1969, and still coming, thats how safe it is. But keep eyes open-and don't leave money bags, or phones on tables, keep out of sight.The pea men on sea front still operate in groups, leave them well alone

Benidorm is very safe. Problems arise when people get excessively drunk. To the point of unconsciousness, this is when you will run into problems, loosing your phone and wallet and get injured. Same for any town city in the world. Stay with your group, look after each other dont get blathered and write down the name of your accommodation. Oh and Have fun. 😅
