I love the window sill over the radiator. Here in Spain the window sills are on the outside, so we can't put decor and the cats can't sunbathe. By the way, I noticed the Feliway plugged on. Gorgeous storage space on either side of that hallway. I love that there is a plug in at the bottom of the floor to tuck away any bulky appliances for a real minimalist look. Such a beautiful home!! Very nice apartment. We put plastic sheeting with tape to keep out the drafts and sometimes a heavy blanket too.. I was also thinking your cold storage cupboard could be layered inside with thick insulation boards. They’re easy to cut. Anyway you and your cats will be happy there.

Floors got my eye at opening scene😮❤🎉 Cool spaces can be similar to a root cellar or wine cave, store vegetables, wines, maybe hard cheeses? (I’d research) The character of older buildings can never be duplicated. I think the kitchen is perfection to the character of the apartment. My bricklayer father says older buildings are healthier because they aren’t sealed air tight. Completely in love with the floors…

Nice that you have an extra room but the flow through still lends it an open space vibe. Looking forward to seeing how you place your furniture pieces! I know you said you’d be using the kitchen for office/dining, but it could also make a good living/dining, with the next biggest as the bedroom and the green room as the office. (It’s fun to imagine-decorate other people’s empty spaces, lol!) Your minimalism will keep this apartment airy and functional.

LOVE THE NEW SPACE! Here are a few suggestions: 1. 1st thing I would do is replace the bathroom mirror with a mirrored wall cabinet so you have a place for toiletries. 2. Enclosing the area where the old stove used to be would make an excellent coat and boot closet while concealing the "architectural leftovers" from the old stove. 3. I always think of hallways as wasted space and barriers to adjacent spaces. Much better to open walls and combine spaces. I would remove the remaining wall so that the hallway and old kitchen spaces combine to make a good size TV Lounge or Office. Reuse the double doors on the new coat closet facing the entry door so you can still mount a TV on the room side.. Fill in the wall where the double doors used to be. Using this space for entertaining also makes guest access to the balcony more inviting. This is also the coolest room without a radiator. 4. The next room becomes the bedroom which is warmer with the radiator and has plen0ty of room for wardrobe and storage cabinets. I just love a big bedroom. 5. And what's better than a big bedroom is a big kitchen; and yours is the best. There is no limit to the functions that you could design into the wall opposite the cooking wall. Personally, I don't like any upper cabinets because I can't reach anything due to arthritis, but you could put in floor to ceiling storage, desk space and entertainment center if you wanted. I would try to imitate the idea of the cooking wall that uses all same doors for storage, dishwasher and refrigerator for a clean and uncluttered look. Your kitchen will be the social center of your home. I cannot wait to see what kinds of tables and chairs you choose. 6. Would your building allow a small electric fireplace? Mine does not. I am able to use a small electric heating pad to warm up my mattress and blankets before I get into bed. Your cold pantry might be worth insulating. Or it might be a perfect wine cabinet. ;) I can hardly wait to see how you make this space your own.

Have always found, when arriving in a new home, to move in and live in it without changing anything. All too often an immediate change can lead to a thought of whether it was needed so immediately. The changes can then be made in good time if required. Ideas can change very quickly when actually living in and experiencing first hand the space and it’s practicality. It can also save money. Lovely new apartment:) When all of the furniture is in place it will be warmer, hopefully. We put big blankets on all our chairs down to the ground to cut out drafts. Heavy velvet wool drapes to pull across drafty doors and its cosy. The floors are beautiful!

Just a suggestion. Can you move the double doors into the entrance way and close up the opening into your living room? There isn't a lot of wall space due to all the doors and this would afford you more space and an easier exit in case of emergency. Your place is beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Nice apartment with a good amount of space. I think it will make a very cosy home for you. I like that it has good storage and that the kitchen is all on one wall. Plus, I like the stone work surfaces, but I’d get rid of the brass handles and tap if it was me. Also, I would have to get good blinds for privacy if it was my place as I wouldn’t enjoy being overlooked by people on the other balconies. However, the wood floors are so beautiful and the ceiling details too. I hope your moving in process goes well and that you and your cats enjoy living there.

Your new apartment is really charming and I love what you see out your windows (a Rear Window view is my forever favorite). The best bit is that it’s in your “favorite hood”! You will feel that unbridled delight when you can go back to shopping in your old haunts again. As for the brass fixtures, I am so relieved that you see the beauty and simplicity in them. They will add just that subtile pinch-of-salt type of glow to your minimalist design esthetic without it feeling too “fancy”.
