Honestly, this is my album of the year. I've been such a fan of Benjamin for years, and I really can't express how blown away I was by this record. At Least For Now took a more straightforward and routine approach to songwriting; a standard singer-songwriter piano structure with some very unique vocals mixed in and a barefoot/flat top aesthetic for good measure. It stood out. It was great. As if Nina Simones ghost found it's way into Scott Walker's body. I Tell A Fly blows it out of the water. The high pitched layered vocals, intriguing production choices, varied songwriting perspectives, and otherworldly sounding piano just make this album so compelling to listen too. I respect you, melon, but I feel like we heard two totally different records. I don't wanna be THAT GUY, but if Lil Pump's production can get him a 7 I don't know how you're only feeling a 5 on this... (I realise comparing BC to Lil Pump is an unfair comparison to make, but it had to be said...)

ChivesMN I liked this LP alot, though I have yet to listen to At Least for Now. I found this album to very intense and perplexing. Disagree with Anthony strongly on this one.

Honestly I really enjoyed this. I first knows about it when I watched Benjamin do a live performance and I feel in love with the theatrics of it. I will admit though that it’s very British in its humour and sensibilities. There’s lots of cultural inside jokes that only really resonate of you live in Blighty.

When I find an artist I like, I find that your ability to compare and find similarities in different artists is in a fairly objective place. Benjamin is one of these artists that i love what they try to do but the product is weak. I think he would be fantastic in a more organic, somber album, natural strings, less production. His voice and feel is so promising. I need him with a minimalist orchestra, or he alone with his piano.
