also besides that, that korn track is kinda garbage anyways. its just generic ass rock juxtaposed with some dubstep sounds without any thought put into it other than "both of these things make money" and has the musical complexity of hot cross buns its fair to say its not the most apt comparison that could be made here

i've been listening to igorrr since forever and i've always loved their unique style as you mention several times, and savage sinusoid didn't leave me hanging at all. from their earlier works it does strongly feel like they have refined their sound and ideas a lot. loved the album.

I believe this is also the first album where Igorrr doesn't use samples for everything? I heard something like that where he was searching for a drummer that can do the speedy Grindcore drumming that you can hear in majority of the album. I'm just glad Fantano can give it a 7 despite me wanting him to give it a 8 or higher lol

Igorrr has a similar effect to Frank Zappa or Igorrr Stravinsky. It's when you have amazing musical passages, ideas and performers but there's constantly a questionable element to the music which isn't too easy to get over. There's been stories of Zappa's alumni who had overheard him composing songs and said "that's perfect", and afterwards he would throw in increasingly strange elements to what was already a masterpiece. It's a whole different way of making music, and I think Igorrr is a solid part of that mentality. Also, Savage Sinusoid is 100% sample free. They recorded everything they use on it.

Glad to hear you're digging an Igorrr album at last man. That said I couldn't disgree with you more on this. I mean not with your assesment, I think you're totally correct on that this is his most concise and well blended effort at bringing these genres of music into the same place, but by it being more palatable it actually draws away from the uniqueness of his music. The metal/breakcore blends on this album sound more standard of genre spaning metal-core bands like Destrage, or even a little Protest the Hero. Yes with a little more of a black-metal edge due to the blast beats and savage vocals of Öxxö xööx, but everything here seems to fall more into order and structure, that for the first time ever made an Igorrr album mostly feel predictable for me. I mean even with albums like Hallelujah, which I've listened to a good 50/60 times, I still never feel like an 'Igorrr moment' is predictable, exactly because it's just this sudden break. Even with the sudden nature it never really detracted from the rhythem and dancy tone of the tune. As well as that it allowed for songs like Pavor Nocturnus or Corpus Tristis to have such emotional leverage simply because they derailed this train of juxtapositioned intensity with such emotional seriousness that the 50,000 BPM your heart is beating at by this point suddenly flatlines, and all you can do is lie on the floor and weep or scream. Either way though man, as I said, I'm glad you're vibing with Igorrr at last, and hope you can start to get a feel of what appeals most of his earlier releases for me. Hope you enjoyed my opinion man :)

His collaboration with Ruby, My Dear is honestly such a pivotal and insane EP in my opinion. I highly recommend you listen to it if you haven't already. They create these anxiety-ridden breaks with such savagery and brutality and just as you're about to throw the headphones off of your skull they release all the tension with just a few blissful seconds of orchestral or synth-based leads, just enough to lull you into a false sense of security and then before you know your face is plunged back into the thick of it. They know their audience well and know exactly when the breaking point for such sounds are, and use that to their advantage. EXTREME musical talent. Not only for composing and creating such overly complex arrangements, but for being able to time them to absolute perfection.

It’s weird to hear someone say that the sounds in Halleluyah clash. I have shown that album to many people, most of whom hate or at least don’t listen to all of the genres that are included on that album, and people generally react with something along the lines of “I didn’t know I could like electronic music so much” or “Wow, that was the most beautiful screaming I’ve ever heard”.

I'm a big fan of Igorrr and other works by Serre, so I'm fully aware of my bias. Overall, I thought the album took an interesting twist departing from previous works in that all tracks are recorded with analogue input (I read it somewhere, don't take my word for it). Older albums have more of a synthetic quality to them, which I adore. Robert, on this album, was in my opinion not a garish display but a (albeit not very subtle) callback to earlier work. I liked the album as a whole, but Robert really stood out for me. It reminds me of Alain, which is another of my favourites of his. That being said, I enjoy your show and opinion, Anthony. Please keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your well-put reviews.

Honestly, I'm an igorrr superfan. I was introduced to him by the song mastication numerique. It's a bit like humous but less vocals and more instrumental. And that's what I think put a lot of people off who were introduced to igorrr early who heard this album was. There's way more vocals than previous iterations. But then again there are still those tracks that give that feel in the previous albums with just the instrumental. Which doesnt make it bad, it just makes it objectively "different" in a way. Ive always held the stance that igorrr is a musician's musician, only fully accepted by (albeit us musicians are all kinda crazy in a way) people who can coherently put all the "genres" aside and just listen, because that for me, is when I understood it. Hallelujah is still my favorite album with nostril being second, only because of the previous statement of the vocals. This album is still great, dont let my previous statements take from that. The vocalists are always crazy good, and they never disappoint. I love everything igorrr puts out because you never know what craziness will ensure when you press play. Your review was quite good coming from another's opinion, I love the fact of how you even said you didnt quite understand it fully yet. While a 7 gave me a "okay I dont get that", your reasoning was understandable and in the end, musical preference is subjective.

Thanks for finally doing a review for this album. It's his best work so far. Travis Ryan does guest vocals on a few songs and the female vocalist is the singer in Corpo Mente. Personally i'd give it a 9/10. Only track I didnt love was Va Te Forte or whatever it's called

things seem more complimentary in this album because the whole thing is written by Gautier and recorded in a studio by other musicians along with him on electric guitar. In his past albums he did have some recorded sounds, a lot of it was sampled, which would explain the music not blending to you.

It's interesting because a lot of people who have really dug the album will cite Opus Brain as one of the best Igorrr songs ever (myself included), yet you gave it little more than a passing mention. In that regard I can completely agree with your 7, as without Opus Brain I don't think I would have given the album much more than a 7 either. It's a really unique song in the Igorrr discography as it is quite serious, dark and focused, constructing and deconstructing a theme/melodic structure that progresses throughout the entire track. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to check out Igorrr to watch the video (which is also great by the way).
