This piano concerto is so underrated, but for that matter, so is all of Godard's music. I have loved his music for many years, and never get tired of listening to it. It's to bad this and all of his music never gets played in the concert halls. To me I find him to be a top notch composer. All I can say is, this piano concert is outstanding. Very beautiful. Thank you so much for uploading this Magnificent recording for all to enjoy.

Thank you very much. I agree with you, Godard doesn't get the attention and recognition he deserves, but I can say again that this concerto will stay in my memory for a long time with its attractive and dramatic ideas. I hope it will also remain in the minds of today's audiences.

Thank you very much for this very fine "late" romantic piano concerto. I find music on the border of a transition is always very captivating.

Un concerto molto personale e precursore , lontano dall' impressionismo che seguirà.....Molto interessante. Ottimo post.

Thank you, I agree with your opinion. If I didn't knew when and who composed this concerto I would have classified it in another era Anyway, the concert had a strong emotional impact on me through the elegant but also impetuous orchestration.

Thank you very much for your interesting comment. You are the only one who has analyzed and expressed his opinion about this concerto of Godard, a concerto that deeply impressed me.

@@sibarit101 yes Alessandro made a great analysis indeed. I had listened this in a hurry when you had uploaded hence could dedicate more time today. Having listened concerto #1 before the difference appears to me very clear. This is fully "postromantic" yet "pre impressionistic" hence its attractiveness gets out from its ambiguity oscillating between past and future. Crystalline technique, though, is derived from Saint Säens despite its language is far away from the old master. Possibly closest "souls" are Faurè, Onstow, Chausson ..... even Franck, somehow.... but I cite them only as kind of spiritual proximity. Actually Godard music is very personal and this concerto is a masterpiece, superior to #1. After it, I'll listen to your violin concerto upload ..... you know .... I always like to deep dive an author when something captures my attention 😉😄🥂

@@pietrolandri6081Thank you very much, Pietro Landri! I don't know what I wrote when I posted this concerto, but I remember that, although I liked both concertos, they seemed a bit strange for the time they were written. And seeing the lack of general interest for this concerto, I gave up posting the first concerto, but I often thought about it, and yesterday I decided to listen to it again .... :)

I thought the first piano concerto was pretty good. As far as I am concerned No. 2 is even better.
