Beautiful work Mr. Vedder. The new VESC Tool looks awesome. The physical hardware design of the VESC 6 is looking super cool. Thank you for contributing so much to other peoples enjoyment and education. I am grateful for you and what you have done. =)

Hello Benjamin, thank you for your great website, I have a vesc 4.12 and I would like to know if I could double the number of mosfet because I would need 100a continuously, without grilling the mosfet driver, thank you

how does it do sensorless start of large motors, in comparison to old 4.12 hardware? I am wondering if 3 shunts solved the issues.

Or when will de software / firmware / designs be released xD. I cant wait to build this baby!

awesome work, will this version still be open source. how long until you release this version. will you be selling the complete unit yourself or the heatsinks.

Can I download VESC Tool actually? Is it finished? I've made a project of Segway like vehilcle with VESC's 4.11 year ago. The most important information is that it works! Now, I would like to make some changes in that project, but I'm really astonished how it goes forward within this couple of months. VESC6 goes in exactly way, which I predict. New design solves almost all of my problems. Thank you very much for redesigning it.

How are you driving the motor at 70 Amps with no load?
@Ender_Wiggin8 жыл бұрын
hmm, that sounds better then what i had in mind. so it just spines it our of time to achieve the 70 amps. I wonder if it is producing the torque at the 70 amps; or if it is just a test mode and the motor dose not preform at all.
@Coolkeys20098 жыл бұрын
Is it acting a some kind of step down converter(Step down voltage, current boost) as the power supply current is much lower? The power from the PSU must be the same as that dissipated in the esc+motor.

By putting in non-torque producing d-axis current. D current is aligned with the field flux linkage whereas torque producing Q current is 90deg out of phase. Maximum torque usually occurs when the stator field is at 90 deg to the rotors field. These are vector currents so in real world and in lamens terms, d current produces a field vector that is in phase with the rotors magnetic flux so there is no attraction force and no work, nothing to pull the rotor around - it just heats up the windings, stator and rotor. In this case there is just enough Qaxis current to get the rotor to spin to 50rpm while the rest of the current is in the D-axis.

Anyone else try and move his VESC tool window to see what he was doing on the bench?... No just me?
