not really. Most mountain boards come with straps as they are designed to tackle rough terrain. Try going on a rocky road with a 30% incline and you will see why these boards have straps.

People always think it's crazy cool when they see me on my powerboard. But then I see videos like this and think to myself "Dang! I'm not cool. My board aint cool. That right there is cool." And then I go wallow in envious depression for a while. I can't have that, not because I couldn't build one, but because my pockets aren't deep enough to buy all the electronics. What money I do make evaporates almost instantly paying bills and being responsible and stuff. Not that anybody cares about my lack of coolness. But then again, it seems impossible to be the best at anything or build the best anything these days. Just when ya think you're cool, somebody, somewhere in the world is out-cooling you... -_- damn.

These are not direct drive if you're using a transmission. "Direct drive" means without gears or transmission

Hi just wondering is there any particular reason why most electric longboards are rear wheel driven or AWD but not really front wheel driven??? I have been wondering for a while now as i am looking into making one for my 16 year old son.

The reason people mount motors in the back is because most of your body weight is on those two back wheels when you are accelerating. If you mount the motors in the front, there is not a lot of weight there and the wheels will loose traction and slip a lot when going uphill or accelerating quickly. Hope this helped!
