Great video, Benjie. So great, I got in touch with Graham and he took me out for a demo of the Scout Inflatable. The boat is great. Easy to set up, very stable (can stand while fishing), and the best part is that it’s so portable. I can take this thing anywhere. Well, I ended up buying one and can’t wait to get it out on the water this weekend. Thanks for introducing me to this great product. Graham is a great guy; he hooked me up with a boat and took the time to answer all my newbie questions; very knowledgeable. Also a great guy to go fishing with. PS - I had no problem with water in boat (same boat you used); as long as drain hole is covered, there’s no problem.

I'm in San Diego, and a very recent Scout purchaser, a Scout 365, after endless consideration of first, a Hobie i11s, then shifting my thinking to a propeller-pedal drive kayak, then landing on the Scout. I think what I like most about it is the amount of water I can cover - one pull on the motor starter cord, and it's off to a new spot. I also like the stability - standing in the boat feels very comfortable. I'm also an old guy, and I like that the pieces are each manageable by me without help. The boat is the heaviest piece, at about 50 lb, the motor under 40, and everything else is in much lighter chunks. I only have to get this stuff in/out of the SUV, not on top of a car roof. I expect I'll be able to handle this many years into the future, and I think I'd struggle with a 100-pound kayak even now.

Hey Jim! Thanks so much for your input! I’m really, really thinking about the scout. The portability is awesome. I don’t really need it, but I don’t have to rely solely on my truck to transport it. Thanks again!

@@amefocus I'd be happy to answer questions. I also did a 2-page review writeup on my demo outing. You can find me on FB (facebook.com/jim.bixby.39) - send me a message with your email and I'll send that to you if you like. I also make/sell rod holders and a GoPro holder that clamp onto the stabilizer bar - you can see videos of these on my KZbin channel (kzbin.info/door/IZZ4pUW1w-Vw0klo3FE55w). The rod holder is 1-1/4" diameter, ok for light tackle and fly rods - pretty much anything light without a butt cap.. I've developed and started using, but have not offered for sale yet, a rod holder patterned on the Scotty or RailBlaza, with a 1-1/2" tube and a locking gate, for heavier rods with a butt cap. This also clamps directly to the Scout Stabilizer bar, rather than using the Scott or RailBlaza mounting system.

Homie that looks great. My only worry with this inflatable if it gets poked by a hook or sharp fish fin

Thanks Mo, yes I have/had that same concern but I’ve been told that the PVC material is extremely durable and thick. But at the same time, I’m sure it’s not immune to say...an errant gaffe job or something. I’ve only been on this once so I can’t say much more than that. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to experience this much more in the future!

I have been watching your videos nonstop for the past 4-5 months learning from you and I just want to say thank you. I'm a huge fan and I surf fish all the time. So thank you! Every time I surf fish I use a C-rig with a camo sandworm and lately I've been wanting to switch it up. I saw that you use LCFM's and I was wondering how you set it up? Do you directly tie the lure to your line or have a litter line with a swivel? Thank you, and huge fan !
@BenjieKimFishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew, it’s comments like this that keep me going and remind me to always do my best. Thank you so much man, it truly means a lot to me and reminds me of why I do this. With the lc, just tie straight to your line - straight braid or with leader using a connection knot (I use the RP), doesn’t matter. Removing the swivel the lc comes with and using a tactical anglers clip (25 or 50 lb) allows you to swap out lc’s quickly. C-rig with gulp camo is hands down the best way to get bit in SoCal imo. Quantity with some quality mixed in. With the lc, quantity goes way down, but the quality is off the charts, at least in my experience. Tight lines brotha, thanks so much for your support. 🙏

Hey Benjie, when you got it registered to use the motor, did you have to bring anything else to the DMV besides the bill of sale, and manufacturer statement of origin? DMV rejected me once before for "not having a title", but inflatables dont come with titles, so im kinda confused. Perhaps the dmv was mistaken, but curious how your process went.

I noticed a lot of water on the floor of the boat? Does it come in over sides or some other way? Is it self bailing or you have to stand in water all day?
@BenjieKimFishing4 жыл бұрын
Great question, and thank you for asking. This was literally my first experience on these so I don’t know the answer. BUT, I will ask my friend graham for better information and let u know here in the next day or two. In hindsight I do realize that there was more water in there than I’d think is “normal” so I’m curious to know too. For sure the water wasn’t coming in from the sides tho.
@twinfinG4 жыл бұрын
The boats are self bailing. They have a scupper with a stop at the bottom of the transom. The reason why Benjie’s boat had water in it is because the scupper was open and Benjie was driving and drifting in reverse and a bit of water came in through the valve. When you a accelerate forward, the boat drains out that same valve.

No prob. You can get my i for from Benjie or you can find me online under Driftwood Caravan Outdoors if you have any other questions
@ljbix4 жыл бұрын
@@twinfinG Ah, that explains it. I have kept that scupper always closed, have not shipped water onto the boat, and have had no reason to bail, or use the scupper to drain.
