And to say you can just casually dissolve filler , it is very dangerous as hyaluronadaise has ruined many faces including mine. It dissolved troughs under my eyes and my own tissue. I had to get a fat transfer that cost me thousands and have now lost my job because I can’t lift after the transfer for 4 to 8 weeks! All from getting tear trough filer in 2018 that caused a puffy eye and in the other eye it migrated to look lumpy! Don’t do filler and definitely do not dissolve it’s too risky.

I love that you added about everyone looking the same. Honestly, and I’ll sound like an old lady right now, but I think that facelift, Botox, lip, fillers, if you’re going to do it at all, at least wait until your around 50 to do it. Just be your beautiful self the way you are. I don’t do any of it, and I am 56. Honestly, I would consider a facelift, both of my grandmas did it, just natural looking- face freshening type lifts. They looked fantastic! They were also in their 50s, not 25 or 30!
@SouthernBelle
@SouthernBelle 14 күн бұрын
I completely agree. I honestly never thought I would ever even consider having anything done to my face. I have always hated my hooded eyes and of course they get worse as we age. But still not bad enough to go through surgery just for that. But the last few years since I did turn 50 I have gotten my dad's eye bags. They bother me so much. I can't even explain how bad they bother me and I'm sure they will only get worse. So I am researching fixing them and what I've read says it's so simple to fix hooded eyes at the same time. I have literally spent my entire life taking care of everyone else. Even as a kid I was taking care of my disabled dad and elderly neighbors. And I lost my husband 2 years ago. I just feel like I deserve to do something for myself and I need to start living again. I don't want to change my looks really. Just turn the clock back a little. I've also always hated my thin lips but never trusted filler. But like you said after 50 it's not such a big deal. I have been researching things like having my own fat injected in my lips. I don't want super thick lips I just want a little bit of volume added and hopefully that would take the very small almost unnoticeable lines away too. When I sell my main house I am determined one of the first things I'm doing is fixing my eyes and possibly something to my lips. If so it will be very mild.

@@SouthernBelle I think you’ve got an excellent plan! We’re on the same page for sure! I hope it all goes well, you’re so smart to research! (Research your surgeon too, (you sound like you would anyway)) I lifted and ‘fluffed’ my boobs 4 years ago. BEST gift to myself. My whole maternal side of the family had breast that were like a combination of pancake and sock boobs. Not even a push-up bra helped the flatness that I had. I’m so happy with it. I had a brow lift & chin lift when I turned 50. I went originally to the plastic surgeon for the chin lift as our family has what we call “chinception - a chin within a chin within a chin….regardless of how thin we are. The surgeon looked at me & recommended a brow lift as well, which I hadn’t even considered but I went for both. Absolutely LOVED the results! I do t do fillers or Botox, have good skin & use good simple skin care in addition to microneedling & red light therapy. No one ever believes I’m 63 now. I’m a fan of doing things with a light touch, I do t need to look like a 25 year old but I like what I see in the mirror. I also let my grey grow out in the last few years, it’s a nice champagne shade & really compliments my skin tone. I’m feeling more confident about my appearance now than I ever have!

My mom is 64 and now barely considering getting filler. A lot of these procedures kids are doing are genuinely for older women and when done properly it just makes you look slightly younger by filling in the lost fat in the face that depletes naturally as we age. It was never meant to change the face shape, it is supposed to be undetectable. I think they just need to develop an obsession with sunscreen because if you truly want to age well you need to protect yourself against sun damage and skin cancer. That’s really it🤷🏻

just in case anyone reads this, I have had filler get infected and had to be CUT OUT OF MY FACE. Please be careful. I didn't go to a groupon doctor. I went to two different board certified plastic surgeons, one who had done some work for me in the past, the other was in the place I moved, and in early summer 2016 I got radiesse injections in my cheeks. by september 2016, one side of my face was completely bloated and I was rushed to the hospital, then I don't remember much. But I was there for awhile. Radiesse cannot be dissolved, so it had to be cut out of my face because there was an infection in the filler that had migrated close to my brain. It was cut out, it was like a large tan lump.. it was gross. and once healed I had to get reconstructive fat transfer to fix the dent it left in my face. obligatory: I was sniffing.. substances back then, and the hospital revealed I had holes in my sinuses. It is possible some sort of bacteria got in through there... but they don't know and the doctors really did not think that was what caused it, however its something I think is a possibility.

Finally some common sense and I wholeheartedly agree with all the points. :) Regarding botox, being a neurotoxin, I am scared about all the very young girls starting doing botox before they hit 20 and what will be influence on their brains if they continue to do it the whole life. Also doing botox and fillers in such a young age is insane. I am really sick of everyone looking exactly the same, usually some clone of Megan Fox, Kim K or Hailey Bieber. I admire now even more people having their original faces with all their "imperfections" that make them who they are.

I like to see wrinkles when people age, I don't think they take away any beauty. Another one I'd add personally is fake nails/extensions/acrylics...it's a look I don't like, I just like natural nails either naked or with very basic classic looking manicures (don't even like nail art particularly)

One thing I can't wait to see in the rearview mirror is almost EVERY SINGLE "nude" lipliner just being a varying shade of orange. As someone who has issues with just about any makeup products pulling extremely warm on my skin tone, I am beyond sick and tired of the struggle to find an ACTUAL nude liner that isn't warm toned. They make my teeth look yellow and my skin sallow, which is desirable to absolutely no one. So obnoxious. Also glad to hear that "porcupine brows", as I call overly laminated arches, are going out.

On botox and villanizing aging - everyone's so focused on wrinkle prevention that they don't realize that it's actually not wrinkles but tissue/collagen/moisture loss and fat pads migration that makes older faces less attractive. Just look at the model at 9:21 (dear gods she's GORGEOUS). People would know this if older women's faces (non altered) were more prevalent in social media, and not just juicy plump 20-year olds. Instead they go get botox (for non-existent wrinkles) which causes their muscles to atrophy and as a result tissues move down, and also do buccal fat removal which results in the stereotypical 'bony old crone' look. Make it make sense.
@benkobeauty

Botox isn’t visible, it simply paralyzes. The muscle doesn’t feel anything. As you stop using that muscle, the wrinkles subside. A skilled practitioner would make it so that your face movement is natural simply less animated yet with expression. Filler on the other hand is something that if done wrong can look absolutely fake. If your lips have aged, it’s good to rehydrate them with a little bit of filler. If your eyes are hollow, and your fat pockets are deflating, it’s good to fill them in. Everything in moderation.
@benkobeauty
@benkobeauty 15 күн бұрын
You can see when someone has Botox, generally speaking. You can visibly see when muscles on the face are paralyzed and no longer move. Excessive Botox can create a very unnatural movement pattern in the face, in a different way that filler is visible. People think no one notices, when indeed, I notice this in women frequently. Not that I’m against the freedom to choose what you want to do, but I think my opinion is that it’s not all that good when it comes with so many risks and side effects that people are unaware of. If you get Botox adverse reactions, then you can really tell. Plus, these things are relatively new. Time will tell what we were failed to be informed on initially.

I struggle a lot with it myself being a model I'm 30years now and I look 20 years old ready and 16 without make up and then I see my co workers that are way younger then me they look double my age ... don't get me wrong the first 3 times they got fillers it looked great but after time they all looked worse .... if there is something I would do when I'm old Is get a face lift but fillers can't be controlled ...eat good drink looks of water 😅 work out and surround urs3lf with good loving people it will show in your heart and appearance... that smile no one can take from you ...

I like effective, simple, quick processes that give me the results I want, without spending the time. I am exhausted with beauty influencers who only focus on products that work well on the faces of 20-30 year olds. OR influencers who are in my age group, who spend money on fillers, botox, and fakeness I want authenticy. I want realness. I am exhausted with the fake eyelashes, the bronzing, the over contouring, etc. I find I have been unfollowing many beauty influencers who are not honest, who focus on high-end products, who sell a "lifestyle," and face products that focus on younger skin. I have been following influencers who are within my age group or who also pay attention to 40+ skin, who focus on affordable products, who are honest, etc. I LOVE the one and go process. I work 80+hrs a pay period, and I am very active. I don't have time, nor the extra money to buy a plethora of products to get a flawless look. My skin is oily, red, wrinkly, etc. Nothing lasts on my face, and following "tips amd hacks" makes things worse. I am exhausted. I want simplicity, honesty, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness. *whispers* I despise fake eye lashes. They do not look real. They look like bat wings. They are not flattering. S.T.O.P!

My skincare router night of corse is tretinoin and during the day is vitamin C, Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10, mousterizer and if corse sunscreen. My skin is so healthy. It actually looks better than when I was 50. I think when you’re young and your age, you definitely don’t need as much. But when you’re a little older, you do. @ totally I hear you! Everyone needs to make a choice about what is worth it to them. :) one of the problems is just when people aren’t educated on the risks of some of these treatments and are severely distraught when things go wrong. When you go to a clinic you need to sign off and consent to all the possible risks for a reason, it happens more often than we think. But many are willing to take that risk to adjust their appearance in a way that they like it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ we are free to experiment with what’s available at the time.

I agree with all of your comments, with exception of Botox and fillers - for older women/men. No one under 30 needs these procedures unless they need something to be corrected - so I agree in that sense. I think it ages young women, they look unnatural and it's not a good look. You have lovely features and great bone structure so will most likely age gracefully 😊. However not all of us are so genetically blessed. I am pushing 50 and unless I have filler in my lips I have an almost non-existent upper lip - not fun, especially when I love lipstick. No one would know I have lip filler because it is very natural looking and it returns my lips to a normal shape and size. I also have a small amount of Botox between my eyebrows because I have strong muscles that pull down near my eyes and cause a crease at the beginning of my eyebrow, the Botox helps to relax those muscles and open up my eyes and the crease disappears. My Dr who does the injections uses a minimal amount of Botox so I can still move those muscles, she has a big emphasis on using the minimal amount needed to get the result. Back in the old days I couldn't move my eyebrows to save my life, so the techniques are changing. The most distressing thing about aging for me, is the loss of elasticity and development of jowls, mine are just starting, but I know it will get worse as I get older. Maybe check back in with us when you are pushing 50...🤣

I guess my question is why “correct” something that’s totally natural and inevitable? Why do wrinkles and facial movements need to be looked at as something to be corrected? Just food for thought. These substances being injected into our faces make these companies big money, so it benefits them to think that these naturally occurring movements, lines, facial features, you name it, need to be corrected because they’re “wrong and unattractive”. I’m actually so impressed with our make up back then for the knowledge and products we had to work with which were just in big discount department stores or the pharmacies. What do I know, I loved and still do my 80’s. It’s just in my heart forever. The 90’s were hard as f*%# to transition to after though 😆. I can not stand laminated brows. I can’t watch some creators cause of their brows. I can’t quit staring at them. I took a hiatus from make up and didn’t even know that was a thing till o recently got back into it.

@Anonymousey44 exactly!! Getting older has really brought out my dry skin. 10 years ago it would have been a hard pass. But now it's the only thing that really helps me look bright and hydrated

The Nars and the Laura Mercier Secret brightening powder are the only powders I can use under my eyes. My dry skin looks awful in everything else. For my face it's hands down ELF Halo glow powder. Nobody can take these 3 from me. It took me years and lots of wasted time and money to find these😅

For the first time, I actually hear common sense, rational suggestions on a makeup video! Yes, we really need to get rid of the word " anti-aging ". Although I am lucky to have my mom's genes ( where at the age of 46, I look like I am 20 without my make up on ), I still think that the "anti-aging" movement gave birth to 18 yr olds getting fillers and botox. You're spot on the " fillers, botox, brows and lashes: - everyone is trying to look like a Kardashian ( and I am not a fan ). In the 1990s, every single super model and celebrity had their own " unique " look bc we didn't have social media to emulate. I think the Kardashians actually ruined the originality of beauty.

Thank you for talking about Botox and fillers. It’s SO, SO, SO casual now, but I like my face completely as it is. I think it’s wrong to encourage people to get them done and treat is so casually. every young girl will see it and be like this is normal, and its not. Every face is unique, and as for anti-aging, I think it’s propaganda designed to make women hate themselves and turn to Botox and fillers. There’s nothing that can truly prevent aging, and older women are beautiful too. Also, luminous setting powders are funny to me, lol.

I'm so with you on all this! European countries and French women especially are about minimal makeup and caring for your skin and seeing it, and if they use any fillers or botox it's minimal. Not one fake eyelash or extension to be seen. As opposed to the drag queen appearance in other countries. Great video! Thank you 🙏

You've absolutely already had botox. Why would you lie about it?
@benkobeauty

Think about this for a minute… What’s in it for me to lie about it? 😂 especially knowing I have a not too fond opinion on it all and basically just roasted the filler/botox industry on the internet. It’s so funny when random strangers on the internet think they know people better than they know themselves and accuse people of things like this. What a strange world we live in.

@benkobeauty for some reason people don’t take into consideration the lighting, and the camera that makes your skin look completely flawless in this video. They assume that that’s what you look like in real life. If you were to get up close to your face, you would see your pores and lines or creases that the face naturally has. That just isn’t always captured on Camera and that’s totally normal. Apparently that just means you’ve had procedures. You just have to laugh 😂 it is just silly.

@@ronnie-lynn exactly. I see you’re a critical thinker lol! I always giggle. Thinking before you speak is such a beautiful thing. It’ll prevent you from making a fool of yourself. It’s beyond me what this person thinks I have to gain about lying about that especially after everything I said. Plus, all my videos are available in 4k. So if you really wanna watch my forehead and eyebrows move, it’s there for ya 😂❤️

I really enjoy watching your videos, and I loved the Yuka ones as in 2025 ill tend to use clean products and I will try to have a low and hopefully a non buying year of make up, unless I run out of necessary products (mascara, SPF, but definitely no blush, I've got some for at least a year!) take care
