I agree with the man who said the midnight sun is worse than polar night. Not ever getting darkness makes it very difficult to sleep and it throws off your circadian rhythm and your overall health to be unable to sleep properly. Whereas when it's dark outside all the time, you can still create artificial light if need be, and continue living normally for most activities, so there's little disturbance to your day-to-day life, especially in a place that is prepared for it. Plus, I love night and dislike the middle of the day most of all because there's too much sunlight 😆 Night owl for life.

I had the same fear about polar bears when I made a solo visit in August 2013. My only encounters with the wild in Longyearbyen were the wild birds, diving down on my head. The midnight sun was also a surreal experience, although it was noticeably colder than for you. Even in August I experienced light snow, and felt like a Scottish winter. The majority of the residents in summer escape to sunnier climates. I booked an excursion to visit the Glacier, but on our bumpy dinghy ride out (holding for dear life) they decided the rough seas were unsafe to continue.

10:25 The whale in that region is sustainably sourced and is no worse than any other type of hunting (and better than farm raised for that sake).

Now, which science article lied to me that polar bear almost extinct and there are like less than 100 of them left. Where is that 3000 polar bears coming from ?!

There isn't a whole lot of polar bears around but there are believed to be around 26.000 still left mostly in Canada, US, Russia, Norway and Greenland. Whatever you read was not correct, like not even close
