A great thorough explanation of the specs. Thank you. As other channels have missed out on covering the finer details. As a 50 year old Australian, who started out on mini dirt bikes as a 4 year old, then progressed up with dirt bikes until I could get my license for the streets where my first one was a TZR-250. Loved that bike. Then spent time racing in the Australian 250 cc Production class on RGV-250’s and then finishing off racing in the Australian Superbike Championship late 90’s. So, as someone, with experience, who still loves two wheels as much as I’ve ever done I will be adding one of these into my garage this year just on looks alone. The rest of the package is purely a bonus! 👍😎🇦🇺

I'm not really sure why everyone is raving about the looks. It really doesn't look cohesively put together. To me, it looks like a parts bin bike.... because it is. The tank's bulbous design, dimensions, and lines don't work with the fairing nor the rear hump. It needed a different tank to pull in the front and rear together and not just a simple swap-over from the naked XSR. The rear hump is way too small, it should be wider, and should be one piece with the seat unit like how it was in the old bikes. This bike just looks like 4 different teams designed it. One team designed the rear hump area, one team designed the frame engine and swingarm (they do come from a different bike after all), one team designed the tank area, and another team designed the front fairing. It just doesn't work together. Lazily put together.

@@magaudion I paid £10k in Jan 23 for mine brand new from P&H and I had other dealers willing to sell me one for the same money. The Ohlins shock alone must surely be worth more than an ABS half fairing and a paint job?

@@terrynicholson9273 so you’ve got the old model which the dealers wanted to shift to make room for the much improved 2024 bike ? You can’t compare an old bike with a new bike ! The list price of the GP is only £700 more than the MT09SP.The fact you negotiated a deal on an old bike is not even relevant !

Cadwell, definitely, but would it be just the ticket on wet, miserable bumpy UK roads? Younger riders won’t have the history of the retro looks and older riders probably won’t want the crouching riding position. Then there’s the jarring small square afterthought that is the headlight. If you’re doing a retro do it properly FFS and put a round headlight in a rounded fairing!
