I can see what Yamaha were thinking, but to me, the bike is screaming out for twin round headlights. I know that they were trying to make it look like a race fairing, but that tiny rectangular LED just isn't right. Thanks for the review.

Love the video, I like that you guys are experimenting with bikes you wouldn't typically choose. It's brave stepping out of your comfort zone. I like all of your videos. I have followed you for years. I understand why some people may not have fully understood why you reviewed bikes you knew you wouldn't like. But I admire you for trying something different! There is something there in stepping out of your comfort zone. Keep up the great work, with the old man back, 100K subs, new project with the V7, its all looking up. I wish you both all the best! You deserve it! I tell you something I would love to see at some point. A challenge that sets the two of you against one another. I would love to see your competitive sides drawn out for a video. Just a thought 😊.

I had bikes that looked like this the first time round and this looks fantastic...who wants practicality in a bike? If you want that buy a car! The weight on your wrists/arms helps the braking, the weight transfer to the front wheel pushes the tyre into the tarmac.... hence more grip. Now where's my Yamaha paddock jacket and Nike Air Pegasus trainers... you've got to look the part! Thanks for showing a beautiful bike off shame that Akra is so quiet ☹️

To my eyes, definitely the best looking of the 900 triples. Yamaha has done a good job in reproducing the silhouette of the old YZR500. By the way, if you like the style of this, have a look at the XSR900 fitted with Velocity Moto's RD500 body kit.

Congrats for setting a little bit aside from your comfort zone. This was in fact a delightful surprise! Thank you for that. I’m all agree that Yamaha have nailed it with this one. Good for them. I really don’t appreciate the transformer design they’ve been using lately and that’s the one reason why I don’t ride a MT-10, which is a Yamaha bike that technically is a gem, but that front design and the pirated lights…too much adversity, can’t stand them. Keep up the good work guys!👍🏻

I love this bike! As a biker from the 90's, I have so many fond memories of watching Wayne Rainey on his Yamaha in Malborough cigarette livery. Apart from a few small nitpicks like the digital screen instead of proper analog gauges I think they nailed the look of this bike! And that triple sounds amazing. But I don't want a bike with this kind of power, I just wouldn't be able to use it properly without putting myself in serious danger, or at the very least put my license in serious danger. My A2 restricted XSR 700 already feels quick enough to be honest! If they make a XSR 700 GP and borrow the suspension and brakes from the R7, that would be my perfect sports bike from Yamaha.

Under-tail exhaust: they add a lot of weight, they pose heat problems for electronics inside the subframe, they move motorcycle weight balance to the rear. That's why they aren't doing this stuff anymore. The GP is a beautiful bike. It would ultimately hurt my back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck. I'd go for the standard XSR900 and pop a Powerbronze Cobra fairing on it.

The XSR Rane is just the MT range again in another guise. Now this GP900 again is an MT09 like the Tracer . I'm not putting Yamaha down as I do love them, but come on Yamaha give is another good 4 cylinder again like the FZ range. 1980's Yammy YZR500 style GP bike colours (Marlboro?) is great, but would love to see an original period bike alongside this tribute! Like with the design of cars, I'd bet a full English breakfast that this tribute is about 50% larger? Air cooling and simpler engineering overall, makes packaging the bike much smaller. Just a thought! Maybe (unlike many other reviewers) when looking at bikes paying homage to earlier machinery, we can see the originals alongside to see how much of the original DNA or "spirit" has been included in the newer bikes?

Personally I love it, great retro look. but im an older guy pushing 60 years old. I won’t trade my speed twin or GS for it. But if I was into filling my garage with bikes this would be one to have.

It's not for me, either, but this bike makes me wish it _was_ for me. It's not as attractive, but also I really like the stealth colorway.
