i have so much love for halsey and this is one of the best albums i’ve ever heard, it’s such heartbreaking work because she thought it may be her last due to health troubles, im so glad she’s recovering and was able to release such a meaningful, beautiful work of art.

I had the same reaction to Arsonist as you did. I was bopping i audibly said “hold on” because she voiced how I’ve felt before in,,, a horrible time in my life. And now finally accepting that it happened and allowing myself to feel resentment. Favorite song on the album.

Idk if you had the knowledge, cuz after I never loved you, you said that I need explanation. So, Halsey had cancer and learned it at her 28th birthday (the 27-28 years old references) and she thought that this album would be her last and do the things that she never did. Plus, baby dad also cheated on her when she was dealing with this and thinking that she will be die. Also, the last line of the album is here lies the great impersonator cuz she didn’t tell her sickness and act like there is no problem 🥹 so can be said that none of these lyrics has metaphors, she was literally dying…

+ since you loved arsonist, fun fact about it baby dad name is alev which means flame in Turkish so the song refers to him. The 7 years line is also about that.
