She punched him because when he made DINOSAUR, she complained that it was too high. He promised that she wouldn’t ever have to perform it live, but it ended up being one of the most requested live songs. She always gives him a dirty look.

AKMU is a brother and sister group that was first introduced to the public through an audition program called K-pop Star Season 2. At the time, they even won an audition program through their own songs. Since then, they have had a sensational impact on the Korean music industry. And to this day, they have expanded their global influence by holding a unique position in K-pop. For your information, AKMU can do any music genre. They also write, compose, and produce all their own albums. Chanhyuk put out his solo album two years ago. I liked it and would say it's worth a listen. Definitely check out more of Akmu's music in general; they have great voices

@@kevandmal "worth a listen" is probably the undersell of the century lmao. I might be biased because I think he's a genius and nearly everything he touches is gold but the whole nation seems to agree with me lol. It was one of my top 5 albums that year, alongside RM's indigo, Taeyeon 's INVU, Bibi's Lowlife Princess: Noir, and Dreamcatcher's Apocalypse: Save Us.

@@AvaPlaya13 Lee Chanhyuk ERROR was listed as one of The Best Kpop Album by Billboard. It also won Korean Grammy type of award in "The Best Pop Album" category. Yup, Lee Chanhyuk's solo songs are also my taste. I love his new song too '1 Trillion'

So just a story for Fry's Dream: they initially performed the song with IU, who guested at their concert in 2014. And then.... nothing. For 9 years. Until they went on IU's Palette show, and they talked about it. IU asked about the track, and Chanhyuk told her that they considered it her song and it was their gift to her. And IU looked blankly at them like 😳??? I performed it at your show, isn't it yours? So after clearing that up, 😅 IU gifted it back to them to release officially alongside Love Lee, and it was a Suhyun solo

She didn't punch him during Dinosaur bc she nailed it, she punched him bc he promised her he would never write a song that required her to sing anything that high (the song is in D major so those high notes are probably 5th octave F# or A or even 6th octave D) but he hended up writing Dinosaur

She makes me want to cry every time she sings Time and Fallen Leaves. On another note, what I love about AKMU is that they really know how to use music as an art with such technicality AND freedom. It's just insane to me.

Considered the most popular rock musician in Korea, legend Yoon Du Yoon is overlooked. He was recently on Xdinary Heros "Instead" singing (screaming) the chorus. You can tell how loved he is if you watch the behind the scenes video when the Xdinary Heros band meet him in the studio, they were awestruck. He says he's currently working on a metal alblum. He ranges from rap, metal, rock and pop. He's appearanced in Kdrams, tv host, music theatre and alll around nice human being, his band was awarded WPMA World Peace Award.

Man, AKMU truly are such a delight all the time! It's been a fun ride to watch them since their beginning on Kpop Star and seeing how big and respected they've gotten. Think the wildest transition for me was watching Chanhyuk go from this dorky bro character that put a lot of focus on Suhyun in promotions, to now being viewed as more stoic and serious after he 1) became a marine and military senior to a lot of other idols, and 2) became a bestselling author lol. Meanwhile Suhyun seems to be having a great time hopping on lives and doing whatever she wants when they're not promoting or hosting their show. So much lore for them haha.

Thanks so much! No worries about it being late. Apparently, the story is that DINOSAUR was written in response to conditions they faced as children in a very poor household and being intimidated by debt collectors. Would highly recommend the MV for the lyrics and visual creativity. The song following that was "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love." It's a well-known tear-jerker. Again, the MV is great and the lyrics are as powerful as their incredible voices. Solar did her version of this song when she had Suhyun on Solarsido part-change video (also recommended ofc). 😁 Again thanks. AKMU isn't typical idol material, but I'm glad when their talent is recognized.

It was released near the end of August, about one week after the Love Lee song release. A very successful promotion bringing back all the good memories with their previous songs.

Answering some of your questions: 1 - I don't know if he writes every song but I know he writes, composes and produces A LOT of them.. he's something else. Suhyun also participates a lot but mostly in writing lyrics. 2 - They've been with YG since the beggining. Short long story, they are obviously koreans but lived in mongolia because of their parents, moved to Korea to pursue their dreams and joined KpopStar 2 which had YG, BoA and JYP as the judges, the program also featured some known contestants like Bang Yedam (ex-Treasure) and Kim Sejeong (ex-IOI and Soloist). Since the beggining they impressed everyone, I suggest you watch their performances because they are awesome, a lot of self-composed songs and good vocals. In the end, they won and debuted with YG (200% is their debut song, it was a double feature debut with 200% and Give Love). For other contents, I recommend their episode with Somi on Knowing Bros, or at least this clip kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKeagZmCbrGiesU&pp=ygULYWttdSBnZW5pdXM%3D, where they make an impromptu song with random book.. songs that are so good that could reach #1 on charts LMFAO. Also their IU's Palette episode is great.

1. So far, Lee Chanhyuk wrote All AKMU songs, Suhyun's solo single 'Alien', and ofcourse all Lee Chanhyuk's solo song. Chanhyuk also wrote songs for AKMU commercials with brands. Brands who made a commercial deal with AKMU often request a song from them, i.e Let's Go Ride song was made as a commercial song for Chevrolet. 2. There are times that AKMU was real indie artist after winning KpopStar Season 2. At that time they haven't decided to join which company, but they still get a job. They release an OST for KDrama, you can see on this video, The "I Love You" one was released before AKMU joined with YG. They also did some tv commercials.

11:46 There's a bts, this song was released after they decided not to do a live performance. When Chanhyuk first composed and played it, Suhyun thought the pitch was too high… LOL That's why Suhyun slightly hit her brother😂

Just to add on to others answering your question about YG -- they were given complete creative freedom with their songs when they joined YG which is why they don't really "feel" like a YG group. There was one time on Kpop Star where YG tried "directing" them on what to do on a performance (iirc, they wanted to perform one song and YG said he likes another song of theirs better and to do that) and they didn't do as well compared to their previous performances and so everyone (the judges) collectively decided to let them do what they want and to not interfere because they are better that way. And I think that practice just transferred over when they signed on to YG.

Read somewhere about the backstory of Love Lee but don't quote me on this. It was a song meant to pull out Suhyun from depression or something akin to this. Chanhyuk, knowing what she was going through, produced this song to help and motivate her. That's why the title is like that, Lee being their surname, so that Suhyun will love herself more...

they've been with YG from the beginning. Someone mentioned them being on Kpop Star 2 where the 3 judges were YG, JYP, and SM. Basically, they accepted YG's offer bc YG gave them the most freedom and least restrictions in their contract offer (everything from songwriting to not requiring plastic surgery or having weight restrictions and much more control over their private lives)
