Quick tip everybody - if you want to know what to get Benny for Christmas, send him as much used coolant as you can get your hands on. Preferably in large, unwieldy, cumbersome containers that leak really badly. He fucken LOVES coolant!

Woo hoo!!! Barra time! Roger that on the coolant tray, it always misses. I was expecting a socket or 2 to drop out when you took the stone tray off the underside. Shout out to Ford Play and the Fox Body Barra in the States.

Benny, a spanner placed under the lower bolt in the bonnet hinge(either side) holds the bonnet up almost vertically, I have a broken 17mm Sidchrome ratchet spanner that's my go to.

Yeah mate, the barra inlet gaskets are common as to blow out . Grey rtv is good enough for the Cresta + mustang so will be fine for the falcon :D

My FG xr6t ute has 400k on it , always serviced and a new turbo is about all done to motor so far, uses bugger all oil .Still loving it, except for the sagging roof lining LOL

Sealant only. The stock gaskets blow out. The cresta has only ever had grey sealant on the flange, no gasket

Just finished a BF, had dramas removing and installing the engine, maybe a slightly shorter engine bay? and damaged the sensor at the back of the head

Yes they’re a touch shorter. It’s super common to break the cyl head temp sensor too :(

Why does everyone pull these out the hard way. Simple and easiest way drop the tailshaft, gearbox Mount. Unplug the wiring harness at ecu and fuse box , strut mounts, steering shaft and finally brake calipers. Place entire assembly on a pallet and unbolt k frame.lift the car off the K frame. Less than 1 hour the engine is out .

Less than one hour to pull it out this way too . Also means no wheel alignment sand not touching trans / tailshaft. You still need to split the engine + trans then you need to assemble it all as an assembly before refitting so no time saved.

Possibly one bolt was removed before we started filming? Not everything you see on the internet is serious/ real. Show me one actual trade mechanic that uses a torque wrench on anything but building engines.
