Whether on the tennis court or anywhere else, we all have experience this feeling where nothing works, where you feel defeated before you even try, and your mind and the thoughts invading your brain are too strong. It is such part of tennis to learn and literally teach yourself to control these moments and find ways to overcome them. All this negative talk to yourself can be turned into positive affirmations that would literally turn the outcome. The best players have learned to internalize and turn emotions on the dime. I have seen Benoit Paire play several times, and when things are in place, he can be a force to be reckon with.

I generally like Benoit Paire. Assuming that he was really feeling ill, he was just frustrated and maybe we should cut him some slack or not. However, to be an elite athlete you should try and keep your emotions in check most of the time. I vaguely recall Federer being a hot head when he first started but he learned to get his emotions in line. Although it's easier when you are considered to be the G.O.A.T.
@noriega786 жыл бұрын
do you play tennis? if yes how do you like it when people say come on on your mistake? anyway Paire is a good player but not a great player. i say good because i consider you have to have some abilities to reach atp rank 18 (in 2016). there's some people at my tennis club that would have liked to have such carrier. the best player in my club only reached around rank 800 which is nothing :)

wh hw I assumed Krueger didn't understand French. But you're right that would be frustrating.

People overestimate Federer's "Tantrums." He dropped his racquet every now and then, but he still does. Yeah, he was aggrevated a bit more easily, but he wasn't like A.Zverev, or anything.
@benjaminsharp9596 жыл бұрын
at pro level it's an embarrassing excuse. Krueger is perfectly allowed to shout come on regardless of the way he won the point. Paire has the mentality of a 12 years old

where is that talent?? i play tennis from 15 yo (so never be succes profi). and have same (maybe better..=))technique than that "talented" guy which play boring same style as 10 million other players... i dont see talent here.. average guy with no mentality.. federer, nadal - they are talented guys, not only perfect mentality, but bring some new in tennis technique.. this guy is very poor when he play that easy simple style and play like shit.. not even close to talk about talent... even that krueger guy is maybe more talented..
@danlevy29736 жыл бұрын
D.Newman Hahahaha amazing. Are you really trying to say that Paire isn’t a talented player? You don’t earn millions and millions of pounds in prize money if you don’t have a skill.. anyway it’s so obvious how much talent the guy has by just watching him play. There’s thousands of really good tennis players out there who could never make the professional tour, let alone be ranked inside the top 50 in the world...
@duska35296 жыл бұрын
yes he is not a talented player.. You dont understand meaning of be talented.. that guy play from very young age.. first time i play tennis i was 15 yo.. so of course i am not a profesional.. No everyone in the world wants to be sportman... i want be a doctor.. why people overestimate succes sportsman? that guy just spend millions hours on the court because has that option.. just play until he become more succesful than others which spend less hours on the court but have another hobbies... nadal, federer, djokovic- they are talented because bring some new to the game.. new technique.. if you thing paire is talented than you know total nothing about this sport... look at his ugly style, this is easiest style and everyone play like that so i absolutely dont understand how someone can be so easy minded and call that clumsy player talented... never understand... just tall strong guy which play whole his life tennis - this is not talent.. have you ever played tennis?
@danlevy29736 жыл бұрын
D.Newman You are unbelievably stupid. Just because your name isn’t Roger Federer, Nadal or Djokovic doesn’t mean that you don’t have an exceptional level of tennis ability. Your ignorance astonishes me. There are tens of thousands of talented tennis players who would beat you 6-0 6-0 and they can’t make it as professionals. Why on God’s earth do you think that you’re so special.

Even in local competitions it's something quite accepted to yell at your own self when you're playing bad, sometimes in a very rough way (in regionals I heard people screaming stuff like "you're a piece of sh*t' 'why did you even start to play tennis"...etc). Weirdly in France it's the only sport where it is widely accepted to behave like this 😅
