Nice and very fast Otis Europa 2000 hydraulic elevator👍. Yes the door setup is very unusual. For this reason, with hydraulic elevators I usually only make a safety break when traveling downwards.

I love the weirdness. It's fantastic. I love that shop swing door to, and the really old one is great.

Where is that otis? I want to film it next time I'll visit Copenhagen... The last elevator runst on an Hisstema controller - One of the earliest generics controller with "intelligent leveling" made in sweden, but otherwise a buggy mess...

Great video as always, Beno!

Slow levelling speed I guess is a problem with hydraulics as they have to maintain oil pressure and also why they’re slow to start compared with traction lifts.

If you saved up enough money would you ever consider going on a special expensive flight adventure to New York City in the USA? Plenty of tall buildings with fast lifts, a big subway system with a few older trains you might be interested in trying (or surfing rather!). And if you get the chance you should try riding some of the big trains that run out of Grand Central. Also as a bonus if you go into the Macy’s department store. They have a few old wooden escalators still in service. I stayed for 6 days in mid-October this year and I had a good time and thought to myself “I bet Beno would be interested in this.” When spotting some of the things I mentioned. Just a tip, The food around the times square area is all horrendously overpriced and there are many street vendors who try to rip off tourists. Like we’re talking US$10 for an ice cream from a van that probably would cost less than half of that in the UK.

Very unique Otis lift. When you’re going up and do a stop test at a hydraulic lift, well what do you expect? They always stop super violent.

I hate Christmas in November, but not as much as I hate it in August.
