@louayyahyaoui36163 ай бұрын
tbf to him, the benoni is very comfortable for white. The only insane move he played was Na3 and I guess the reasoning was that he didn't wanna come back to the square he just came from or he didn't want to block his bishop again rather than permanently disallowing b5.

@vex50563 ай бұрын
I think benoni is actually a really great opening. You just need to know what youre doing well and be familiar with the positions. Personally I think the positions after it can be very sharp and exciting to play, so with the dynamic style of play you can outplay much stronger opponents with. In my opinion it can be used even on gm level.

Ka3 is wild and no way a 900 has that kind of understanding. He is watching a chess opening video in the side or something. Taking way too long for engine assistance
@iqraathemanuel3 ай бұрын
the correct notation is Na3, as Ka3 would be moving the King to a3 and N is for Knight in algebraic notation in order to distinguish between the two pieces

The Benoni avoids the London, c5 against D4. So I haven’t played against the London for months. The pawn on E4 is a big problem. That guy was cheating! Thanks Aman I learned a lot.
@lougaru24453 ай бұрын
If he played the old jabroni on move 1 against a non-cheater I would have bookmarked and cherished this video forever. He also had a chance to go for the Benko which would've been awesome to see. I know these boys are tired of speedruns but I would donate toward a "C5 Against Everything"
@wsleppy46993 ай бұрын
Literally my repertoire at 1500. I play the old benoni against d4. Sicilian against e4. Symmetrical against c4
@taliesine.83433 ай бұрын
still pretty instructive. Opponent played 12 book moves and from there literally every move was an inaccuracy. I thought it was very beautiful how Aman shifted his focus from Queenside to Kingside. Whites opening perfectly defended the Queenside, and the 900 noticed too late that Aman was already not interested in the Queenside anymore.
@ThomasEWalker3 ай бұрын
I used to love Benoni, but it is 100% the 'son of sorrow' (and yeah, that's its actual nickname). Even Fischer had to try Nh5 with Spassky, I think, to squeeze play out of it. You gotta be willing to take some pain for these patterns, man!

Honestly I don't think he used engine or opening explorer. If you look into analysis you can see he played all the good moves that Aman recommended (either best by engine, or even some inaccuracies, but all were spotted by Aman before he played them). Seems like a stream sniper to me

Qd7 blocks in your bishop, and both knights need to use d7 to rotate throughout the position. Putting the Queen on that square blocks not only your bishop, but both of your knights as well!

@XVRMEDIA3 ай бұрын
Why is it so hard to play the Benoni? If your opponent makes mistakes, you take initiative. If your opponent doesn’t make mistakes, exchange pieces on e5 and play a better end game. You don’t lose your GM title if you play Nfd7-e5. Only with the Samisch can white hold against all Benoni plans and then you switch plans to Benko and play on the other flank. You don’t know how to play this opening which is closely related to Dragon Sicillian.

sorry you don't know the theory of Benoni, but why criticize it then? in the opening after Be2 you should place your knight on a6-c7
@_Ozka3 ай бұрын
from my experience you need to trade the white bish for the knight on f3, asap. a1 met with a4 requires room b8 and reinforcement to push b5 pawn. its challenging but the stigma around the opening makes some player on the while side scoff at it and lower their guard thinking that Benoni will collapse on its own.
