I have this and a MacBook pro 16". I thought I could use one single cable to connect it for power and video/audio bit I've been unable to do so which is disappointing! Am I doing something wrong?

It should work if you plug directly to the USB c. I actually have a thunderbolt 3 dock connected

@@TheAverageTechGuy yeah I'm not sure of I have the proper cables. I'm beginning to doubt if it can be a one cable solution. It will work for you because of your thunderbolt dock, not sure if it will work without it. I wish they included one in the box, now I have to buy one and experiment. All I have now is the white apple cable and that doesn't work.

@@TheAverageTechGuy Yup it was the cable. Sucks that Apple doesn't give you a thunderbolt cable in the box with an MBP that I paid almost $3000 for!!!!!! If anyone cares I'm using the Cable Matters Thunderbolt 3 cable that I got from Amazon and it is working PERFECTLY!
