I have the TK850 and love the BenQ line of projectors. Their throw ratios worked great for my setup since I could place the projector behind a soffit and make a clean installation. 145” screen with the projector about 13ft away. As you stated, they are great entry level projectors! Weird to say a couple grand for a projector is entry but we all know how expensive this hobby can get. I’ll be looking for my next step up soon, so keep up the projector reviews!

I've had the ht3550 and still love it. I'll eventually upgrade to the 4550 or the Sony 5000. But for now I'm pretty happy. I just got my back for sending it in for repairs...which cost me only $150. I just had new color wheel installed and had the firmware updated and projector cleaned. I also bought a new bulb (which I do once a year). Picture looks even better that when I first got it, truly amazing.

Just got the W4000i for right above 2000$ on Black Friday. Pretty excited about it. I'm upgrading from a 1080p W1070 which served me very well for many years, so I expect the quality bump to be substantial! I'm also happy to move on from bulbs over to LEDs. On my W1070 I had to change the bulb every year and a half on average and at least a 1/3 of the bulb life came with slightly decreased luminosity. That said, before I found this offer I was ready to pull the trigger on the TK860 which I think is an amazing projector 95% of people will be super happy with.

The Infocus X1 was my very first projector. Broke down very quickly. Then I switched to the BenQ W500, followed by the W1100 and finally the W7500. BenQ projectors are super reliable. The W7500 is a great projector and friends who came to watch movies on it thought that it was a 4k projector as the pictures were so detailed. It's still running strong but I'm very tempted to upgrade to the W4000i.

Is the bulb on the 4550 replaceable when it finally dies after 20,000 hours? Or you have to throw the whole unit away and buy another projector?
@therealshanelee10 ай бұрын
It'll start to dim at 20k hours not completely die.

Yea but once it starts dimming can the light source be replaced like a lamp projector?

@@muharremuzel6106 I'm pretty sure I just had terrible luck both are great projectors and BenQ has great colors tho if anything goes wrong you have to send it to them for RMA and three in Asia so what should of taken a few minutes of chatting was a hole week instead was great for gaming I'd personally say go with your gut

@@muharremuzel6106 I did respond but KZbin decided not to allow it great 😃 First for the price to performance you can't beat it it's colors are good and it super responsive for gaming with 240hz at 4ms lag at 1080p it's perfect for competitive play with a controller Mine did indeed catch fire and my second one blew a hdmi port and damaged my av receiver because of that how ever that was a RMA unit aka went in for repair and was sent out once they believed they had repaired it they didn't they fd me over massively And there responses took a week to even send it in for a RMA would I recommend you by one ? Honestly yes but at the same time make sure you get a good warranty and make sure the company you by for replaces the unit if anything goes wrong as for the other one you said about they make good stuff and there decent but for the price the tk700 has no rival's in the price to performance battle you want to see what I've experienced check my channel as I made my RMA videos public showing what happened and I now own a Benq w2710i and no longer need to worry about rma

Why is the 860i discontinued?
@RagnarCrumpets Жыл бұрын
Why did you decide to compare the HT4550 to the TK860i and not it's cheaper counterpart the HT3560 Which is much better for HDR and movie watching in general?? That would have been a much better comparison as both are for home theatres while the TK series is more for bright rooms with ambient light

Great Video, Shane! If you don’t mind, how would you compare the 4550 to the Epson LS10000 overall and specifically with perceived brightness? One of those will be my upgrade from the HT3550 soon. Keep up the good work!

Eh. I have a BenQ monitor and while the picture quality is very good, it absolutely does not like uncommon video frequencies. It loves 60Hz or 59.94Hz, but 59.19hz, 59.92Hz, 60.1Hz and the like may cause it to blank out for a few seconds every now and then. So not good for videogames.

At 17:06, is this a rainbow effect and "in reality" does it look as bad as on KZbin?

I'm not sure about that as well but it could be the projector displaying 3D mode as Shane was speaking about 3D at the time.

@biogons14 Жыл бұрын
It is evident that the new W4000 gives a better image with its 0.65 DMD chip, but the problem it has for me is the reduced projection distance (throw ratio), unlike the LG, JVC and SONY that you can place in the back of the projection room. It's not for me.
