If you have an Xbox Series S, DON'T DO THIS!!

I got my Series S about 4 weeks ago and I am absolutely blown away by the performance of the tiny boxed beast! I've had my PS5 for six months but I wanted an Xbox for my gamepass subscription lol I couldn't find the Series X in stock so I went with the series S (despite my trepidation caused by the negativity surrounding the console). I do NOT regret my decision one bit, honestly the series S is such a BEAST of a console. What's blown me away the most is it's ability to upscale all games to match my 4K display even though the system is designed to hit 1440p at 60fps it upscales to 4K REALLY well (better than my PS4 pro) while maintaining 60fps in even the most intensive games. I've also tested running games at 1080p but 120fps and I'm just blown away at how well it does. The amount of hate I get on YT comments surprised me. I've literally had people tell me that because of my decision to support the series S, I was the reason that games are being held back SMH 😑 the ignorance of people is palpable because the reality is games are NOT being held back by the series S, they're being held back by the PS4/Xbox one. The series S uses the same SSD, the same CPU/GPU as the series X albeit with slower clock speeds and less compute units respectively. Games can still be designed without issues and scaled down to hit 1440p 60fps. The PS5/XSX need the extra graphical grunt to run games at or close to native 4K 60fps. Gee, this comment is way longer than I had intended but I am extremely passionate about my series S console lol happy gaming ✌️

the Series S is definitely an impressive little compact powerhouse for only 300 dollars that can potentially render triple A games up to a locked 120fps, try finding a gaming PC that can run modern titles that high for less than 500

@@GothicSnowLeopard you are absolutely correct! You can't even get a comparable Zen 2 CPU for $299. It's truly an incredible value! What astonishes me the most is the performance of the console itself. I use my series S on a 4K TV and every game is upscaled to match my TV's resolution which is awesome TBH. I've also tested out the 120fps on Doom eternal and Dirt 5 and I couldn't believe how well it handled 120fps (at 1080p but still). I get so many comments from people telling me I'm the reason games are being held back & it's astonishing these people have ZERO knowledge when it comes to PC parts, game design and game development. They literally talk trash without understanding anything SMH. I appreciate your response. 👍

I’m a ex PS4 owner and current PC gamer, this system has definitely impressed me, I’m surprised by the lack of love from the Xbox community, it seems people prefer the series X, the X is great but the availability and scalping is horrible, I also find it to be a big ugly system lol. This Little cute series S is all anyone really needs, 1440p at 60/120hz for $300 is very impressive! Can’t wait to pick one up.

@@ItsOdders bro, as long as you don't have warzone or gta you'll be able to have like 5 or 6 games downloaded at time which isn't much but the fact that you can download games while away from your console makes it easy to swap games on and off the system while away. I was worried about the storage and graphics to both I was surprised. I'm planning on getting the 500 gb internal ssd in the future for a few more games but it's not bad as is. Such a good system I got my fiance and her brother to both get one!

To save am much HD space as you can, if you set your External HD as the default to install games too, when an X/S optimized needs to install on the internal storage it will just ask to install there.

For Series X|S optimized games; if you go into manage game and file info, there is a string that will say either "gen 9" or gen 9 aware." Gen 9 Aware games don't require use of the internal SSD and can be played normally through any external storage that is USB 3.0 compatible. Only "Gen 9" games require the internal storage.

Microsoft have to have. Option that you can select if you whant to have s/x upgrade OR the old Xbox one version of the game. On a 1080p screen i do not see the the different on forza horizon 4 . But with a Xbox series IT Automatic the s/x update on. And so are more games like that. If i can select IT i can use a SSD on USB. But no i can not so i have to set IT on the SSD in de systeem of de Xbox series.

@@primopurp3055 what external drive u.use ? If the game is x/s optimized you can only run on the original external drive from the x/s. If you use a old drive from your Xbox one series. And the game is install on that and plug in to the Xbox series. You play the Xbox one game and not the x/s one

@@dyslectische that's not true dude. You can run Series X|S titles that are "Gen 9 Aware" on any external device. Just look in the file info, the game will either be listed as "Gen 9" or "Gen 9 Aware." Titles listed as "Gen 9" require the internal storage, but the other titles still take advantage of the new hardware, just not the SSD. Skyrim Anniversary Edition is a good example of this

The game you talk about is a Xbox 360 game with update . But the base of the game is still stuck on Xbox 360 code engine. I use a Xbox serie-s with a 2Tb Samsung externe driver. Al my game with x/s on IT i can not set IT on the internal drive . That are the game what the basis is Xbox one OR x. Like my Forza horizon 4 i have to set IT on the internal drive . On herinstal of the game IT tell you . If you have the game on the external drive of the Xbox one instal. And u use IT on the Xbox serie-s IT do not update IT .

Nice straight to the point vid, but a couple of notes: 1. Some of X/S enhanced games could be actually installed on slower external memory. The Division 2, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Halo Master chief Collection to name a few. 2. Quick resume doesn't eat your speeds, only running game does. Just exit the current running game and speeds will be back.

I bought my series S like half year ago and I LOVE IT every day, this smol console just makes my day better and yes I do have a gaming pc way more powerfull but having all the easy life features like quick resume or just by playing old 360 or one games with no effort just makes it so damn great. About old games I thought only OG xbox and 360 games were able to install on external drives, I'll buy an external disc for xbox one games cause I really want to play some and for example Halo 5 it's up to 100GB.

Good video. I've got 30GB left between my internal drive and the 4TB external hard drive. 98% of my games are owned. I'm getting the 1TB SSD expansion drive on Friday to have more space and to put giant games like Microsoft Flight Simulator on it. Microsoft said that the console will read both the hard drive and the expansion drive at the same time. It will be interesting to see this. I prefer the design and the size of the S. I'm not a physical game kind of guy cause I also have a PS4 and a Switch and I don't want a shelf full of games to contend with. I don't plan on upgrading from the S as I'm happy with it.

So buying Series S + 1TB expansion will cost similar to just buying Series X at the cost of gaining another 400GB of storage which seems like Series X may be a better option and you could get away with not necessarily purchasing an expansion like Series S.

The console will read from mutliple storage devices, it's possible to have 3 USB harddrives connected to an Xbox at the same time and it'll be able to play games from any of them, often games are fiddly and require the DLC to be on the same drive as the base game in order to work. But with 3 USB 4tb+ hdds it'll take a good few minutes for the console to populate the list of installed games

I'd rather buy the series S over the PS5 1. The series S is more affordable 2. Since the series S is small and shaped like a box it's enough space for your gaming set up 3. Since it more affordable you can buy accessories at your disposal 4. It has better features like quick resume when running multiple applications at the same time in the background I made the right choices buying the series S over the PS5 Take my advice if you ppl want a next gen console the Series S is the way too go

@@CameronsTrashTV I went and purchased a WD 12tb external HHD for my Xbox Series X. I keep about 10 of my most played games on the internal SSD that is built into the consol. I keep the rest on the HHD. I currently have over 50 games downloaded in total.... with only 11% of total storage used. Most of them I downloaded from the massive library of games that Game Pass offeres. Transferring between the WD HHD to the internal SSD usually takes 2-4 minutes on average depending on the size of the game. It's definitely the best way to go. The WD 12tb hard drive cost me $350 off Amazon
