In this video I want to show you how you can save your BOSS RC-505 Memory to your Laptop/Computer for peace of mind. In case anything happens to your loop pedal! It's important to do this from time to time!

Ace Ben! Blimey its just that simples! If you import a loop, i guess all the track playback settings fx etc if set on the 505’s program/ patch will take effect. Ie if you import a 4 bar loop file into a 2 bar loop track set on the 505 only first half of the imported loop will playback? What about tempo and pitch? Does the 505 automagically time-stretch the loop to fit the current tempo or will you have to match sample import tempos to 505 program tempo? Bless Jonboy x

Is it possible to find all the identical parameters by copying the "memory" and "system" files? such as the name of the preset; the assignments of the control pedals; the individual and general volume of the loops ... etc.. Full backup and restore of items

I have an rc-5. I figured out how to back it up on my laptop, but there is very little sound when playing back on my laptop speakers. It’s a little better with headphones but still nearly silent... any suggestions? I’m totally scratching my head here.

*okay I have a question. is there a way I can record my different tracks into (1) song as a WAV. file? tracks 1-5 are all separated and I ant them to play together. the reason is I want to send a music file of my tracks* *does this mean I have to make (1) track that has everything on it? just need a little help...*

HELP -- Can you set the RC-505 to trail off the effects of external effects? I don't want the reverb, delay, etc.. to just stop when the loop starts over. Again, this is for external effects... Ableton effects on PC to be exact.

The 505 uses 4gb micro SD card for storage, I upgraded mine to 32gb, keep the original safe. Just in case.

Help me! My husband unplugged my laptop which I had connected to my rc505. I lost everything. I had JUST backed up my looper so it’s all saved, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get it back onto my loopstation with just copying the backup folder. I tried twice now. I eject after it’s copied on there, then I wrote to exit, but then when It goes I to play mode, nothing is there again. The only thing I can figure is that I do have two files. The original one I’m guessing from “2016” it says. I just bought it so that is old storage I think. Please help me to figure out what to do. I had so much stored on there and all different projects i was working on. I’ve lost all the demos as well in the 90’s slots. Help!!!

{Whats4dinna} maybe some manual digging is required. Have you tried just importing one session or patch to see if that loads rather than trying to import the lot? I wonder if you have ‘new’ recordings on there if you may have run out of storage space on the 505? If you hunt around the web you’ll find basically the onboard memory is just a surface mounted SD card! YES! And there are some tutorials around that explain how to swap it for more storage space! If your 505 is still in or just out of warranty i wouldn’t do it tho! Maybe also time to log a support call to BOSS/ Roland? Hope that helps. Jb x

I have a problem the WAV files from RC-505 are imaginably SILENT. Even though when I play them on the looper they sound OK on the headphones. When I import them into Ableton the waveform is hardly visible. What might be the cause?

I actually don't own the 505 but it might be an imbalance between the input gain (i.e. the actual level of the input signal) and the overall 'volume' you've set your device to Meaning the looper itself is cranked loud enough so you can hear it when looping but only because it's chucked a load of extra gain on the tracks after they've been recorded quietly? Just a guess :)
