I love that you can get a custom watch, you can find something that is just right for you. Its not the watch you will have forever... but having your own style of watch that no one else has, can be very cool for the right people. Thank you for reviewing them honestly. I just wish they gave you the Dive watch, that one really has my eye at the moment

I'm not sure why, but I always want to disagree with what you say. But I never do. Your reviews and thoughts are very well put together and you are obviously well educated in watches. Great points and well done. £220 for a k1 Crystal. Nope. 👎 I'm also put off by the size of the watch. Too big for a vintage inspired watch. For another £100 I just bought a sarb033. No competition. Or for something a bit more quirky like these, for just £50 you can get a vostok.

Nice review! I like the design, but the whole package is not my cup of tea. I'd skip the undone chrono's and the original seagull 1963's, and go straight for the ED1963 from hked. Choice between sapphire or acrylic, nice size & proportions, mechanical chronograph, and more than enough dial options. 👍🏻

Fabulous watch gifted to me by my son. Smart, accurate with my initials at 9 and DOB on the rear case. Just had the battery replaced and its good for another 3 years. I too love the vintage look.

I wish someone would review Sekonda again? Much cheaper but much better? These are too big and generic lugs? To me for what's its worth for good quartz on a budget and want analogue go for Casio,Timex and yes Sekonda,all with previous! Cheers.

I feel that the price is a bit steep, but I would have been okay with that if the glass had been sapphire... In daily use watches tends to get bumped into things from time to time making sapphire crystal a must have for me. Especially at that price.

i have to disagree with your statement that the mineral was cost cutting. given the styling of the watch, mineral or plexi would be the best best option to keep that period aesthetic. a domed sapphire just wont have that same warm distortion that the mineral does. a good example is the speedmaster that has plexi and sapphire varients....why do you think the hesalite version is more popular? simply because it looks better...and this coming from a sapphire owner.i bought for the display back but quite frankly id prefer the hesalite look...and if it was possible, id be willing to pay to convert it to a hesalite... oh..and i own a seagull 1963...it comes in plexi and sapphire....i choose the plexi as it just matches the watches period aesthetic....

Compare these with Eoniq which are also customizable to see which as better value, overall it looks premium and the watches definitely are unique. In my experience Casio and Seiko watches tend to look more conservative and "risk averse" aesthetically.

The glass back is good for people with a nickel allergy.But that's probably not the reason why undone is giving that option.Also a battery in that movement can last 4 years .You can easily check for a battery leak that way

There’s just something about the Vintage Killy that got my attention.

If people only look to brand heritage, we will never have new brands with heritage. The fact you can customize them and the type of movement, it isn't so bad as some brand's reputation for being really bad and only fashion watches.

Love your channels. I think you need to review the legendary Seiko SKX. I'm sure you know about this watch, and apparently it's being discontinued after 23 years. An amazing entry level diver, with history.

I have an Undone Newman hybrid ( $100 lightly used)which I enjoy very much but it's kind of scratched that itch & I can't see myself getting another mecca Q watch despite me desiring a number of them, I very much desire a brown Stratton Speciale but the auto is $1200 & the mecca Q is just slightly disappointing because it's a mecca Q for $600, though sold out. If Bulova ever sells their UHF movement to micro brands I'll be in deep trouble.

The watch parts are cut by lasers and cnc milling machines. The parts are assembled by robots. A factory is full of machines all controlled by a single cnc program. Very few humans. Skill not required, labor not required. Eventually, watches will be produced en-mass to custom specs: each customer can select the exact material and physical specifications of the watch, design the face, add custom engraving and artwork. If it can be imagined within possible physical dimensions, then it can be created by CAD and CNC into a physical object. A pre-assembled movement is fitted into the custom case, packaged, and shipped automatically to your door. As the technology becomes freely available globally brands will cease to have significance. All watches will be produced to objective quality standards using materials, methods, tools and technology. The only barrier to entry is capital. And that is scaleable.

Ben, you've got something very important wrong - there is a BIG difference between a flat and a domed sapphire crystal. Even Omega struggles to create good looking domed sapphire for their Speedmasters in a veeery different price range. That is why SEIKO and other brands use hardlex/mineral crystal when creating domed crystal as it's simply the only solution. Or can you list ANY watch in this price range, that has domed sapphire crystal? Maybe some Seagull has it, that would be my guess, but that's all probably. You can look up more info on the internet. Low-cost fashion brands like Sternglas have double domed Sapphire glass for the same price as these, as well as a multitude of Chinese brands 👍

​@@BensWatchClub You got me there, they really do offer that. Didn't see that anywhere in major brands. It looks as tho the watches were made around the crystal, and that is the weakness. They bought some standard grade domed sapphire and made a watch around that. When you look at Omega's Speedmaster with domed sapphire it looks simply weird in my opinion as they have problems shaping it correctly. Other thing is, while mineral crystal cracks, sapphire shatters on impact and that's why I would never buy a "tool watch" with sapphire crystal. Sapphire simply isn't THAT great as many people think. Glass itself is hard enough for most people.

@@Samco05 I've read the same thing about using mineral crystal for a tool watch. It annoys me that my Vostok-Europe picks up scratches, BUT they purposefully use mineral crystal so that the same damage would not shatter it.

Ben, I have seen reviews of this brand before. The watches have all of the fashion watch "smells" about them. The watches are not bad, but i could buy a watch with this movement for about 50 Euro's easily . Give them some credit for the customisation possibility and I end up with a price, about 100 Euro's max. This Ben is a fashion brand watch and to large for a vintage looking watch. Sorry, not cool and not for me!

Ben's Watch Club if vintage is your thing (it is mine for sure!) you will have plenty of choice to chose from 34mm OP Rolexes to 35mm Longines and 36-37-38 mm Zenith chronographs

Not a huge fan of these for some reason. Maybe it's because they're all a variation on a theme. Dan Henry watches are a similar price and build quality but offer much more choice in watch types. Great vid as always.

You can get a real Chinese pilot watch . It is called the seagull 1963 for around the same money . It has real history . Please look them up . They are great.
