Anyone who has done upholstery will tell you, that is amazing work. Getting the small wrinkles out on the inside curves extremely hard. You have pull the shit out of them, it's hard work.
@noreezy4991 Жыл бұрын
this sentiment is exactly correct, and finishing stages in upholstery are often overlooked for their value, as they tend to only "slightly" alter the final product, but add a lot of labor. That said, this is exactly the type of difference between the best stuff and average stuff. average quality will get you 80-90%. the best stuff painstakingly squeezes out those last 10-20% to give you the 100% best outcome.

What does the green, orange and white marks mean on the leather when it is bring prepped for the computer to cut out the shapes?
@Hattonbank3 жыл бұрын
The different coloured marks indicate the severity of the natural marks in the hides, whether they are flea bites, scratches, scars etc., and how visible they are. The more visible ones are avoided and cut around, the less noticeable marks are allowed to be used but in less visible parts of the seats. This is routine practise for all seat leathers irrespective of the make of vehicle, but usually, the higher priced the vehicle, the better the leather quality is, as well as there being more of it in the interior.

True, but the hides only come off steers that have been butchered for their beef. The hide, like every other part of the animal left over, is tanned into useable leather like this, otherwise it would go to landfill. No animals are killed to provide car leather, the value of the beef is 15-20 times the value of the raw hide.

Bentley Leather Unit is under performing more especially with colour choice and patterns on the seats as compared to Rolls Royce's. The use of leather patterned seats are outdated in luxury car production and sale. The surface of the leather should look sleek. Bentley is Bentley not Dodge Sedan. That's why the Mulsanne is failing

what is the best leather seats for the car in terms of confort and long life?
@Hattonbank3 жыл бұрын
The best in terms of comfort is a semi aniline, the best for long life durability is a cheaper embossed leather but it is stiffer, does not look so good, and does not feel so nice. Comfort is more down to the design of the seat not the type of leather as the leather is only 1.2mm thick. The seat frame, style, foams and materials beneath the leather determine the real comfort, the leather just adds to it.
