I LOVE the fact that Pochita ate the bitterness and snow devil so that Denji, who was COMPLETELY lifeless after Nayuta's death, remember the grave visit with Aki and Power and his bitterness in regards to not being able to try life with Reze whome he loved. Just remember that when Pochita eats a devil the concept gets erased completely. So for example, people didn't think why can't we speak; they just accepted it. So the moment Pochita barfed up the Snow Devil, Denji instantly remember that snow exist which leads him to remember the Grave visit. The same with bitterness. Edit: Apparently "Bitterness" refers to the taste not the emotion itself. So when Pochita barfed the Bitterness Devil he remembered Reze because of the bitter taste of coffee he drank with her. What I said still applies but I was just wrong about why Bitterness reminded him of Reze.

Another thing about Denji remembering Reze without the choker meaning that his memory of Reze isn't associated of her being the Bomb Devil but a girl he fell in love with and had lost. It is also the shirt Reze wears in his memories is missing the ball bell print that signifies the Darkness Devil and the Public Safety oncoming encounter with it after Reze's arc. It's gone which I can interpret that during those times he spent with her were filled with warmth and light.

I really love your interpretation of Reze without the choker. It reminds me a lot to Goodbye Eri by Fujimoto, where the mc makes movies about some people, but only includes footages that show only the good side of that person, so that other people remember that person as the best version of them, excluding all the negative aspects of that person, basically like the way you say Denji remembers Reze.

I think bitterness was supposed to remind denji of the coffee reze introduced him too, i think theres a panel of him not liking the taste and calling it bitter. i wouldn't say fuji is telling us denji feels bitter towards reze, i think its simply just the coffee taste being a memory made by reze, and denji holds on to it as a nice memory.

I made a comment in the previous video explaining my takeaways of chapter 182, but, thou I still agree with a lot of it, I must correct myself on one aspect. Denji's dream has not evolve as I said. For evolving, he must first fulfill it. I think this moment goes beyond Denji as a character. This are the things Denji hopes to obtain, thus, I interpret this says "As long as there's hope for something better, there's something to live for". Also, being those things his dream, it could mean "As long as I'm able to dream of more, there's something to live for". For me, part of the message Denji gives as a character is ambition, in both a good and bad sense. Everyone wants more than they have, even if they have everything, even if its morally questionable to want more, because it's our nature as humans to not be conformists. Would you die happy not knowing how your dreams feel? At the end, we all seek knowledge, one way or another. There's no worst Hell than one where you cannot even dream of escaping. I think this is a message againts suicide, death is a hell you will never crawl out of. There's nothing worst than nothing itself, even if your life is super fucked up, death is worst. As long as you can hope, as long as you can dream, live is worth living.

Another thing is that Denji doesn't know that Asa and Yoru are not the same person other than physically, let alone being aware of Yoru's existence in general.

Denji was made to remember the good parts of his life thanks to Pochita eating the concepts that awakened his older memories. Too bad it was just flashbacks of Aki, Power, Nayuta and Reze though. All the people he loves or even gets close to ends up taken from him. Even though he keeps enduring the most heartbreaking things he still has his lil buddy helping him and his new woman Asa along the way. Denji can be dumb at times but he's far from stupid because he figured out how to get out of the AD's world. Also, I can't believe Fujimoto made what Katana Man said in earlier chapters accurate because part of it had to do with Denji's motivations in life 😂

Awesome video! One thing: Denji wasn't drowning in the lake. You can't die in the Ageless world, and it was Rize who taught him how to swim, so it's possible that Asa was just freaking out by how long he was underwater and went to drag him back up. The same way she tried to drag him out of his hopelessness. And I agree - no way Nayuta is gone. I think the Devil Hunters just hid her away so they could use her to snap Denji out of "Black Chainsaw" mode if he got too out of hand. "She's alive! Now calm down, baka" kind of deal. Here's hoping Meowy's alive, too! And Makima's dogs, I guess.

Am I the only one who hated his resolve? Like it makes sense story wise bc denji is dumb n likes superficial things. But man does it kill his potential character development, girls and grub just aint it… its so denji but so unrelatable to me, denji inspiring to help nayuta is where true fulfillment actually is imo. This is just going in the direction of him being tortured and mentally abused over n over and were just supposed to be happy bc he can get over it easily just for it to happen again… imo if this was me i would just accept that im never going to get happiness n give up.
